The Batch Loaf in Monaghan

Very enjoyable visit. 5 in our party and everyone enjoyed their choices. Generous portions and every main course includes a choice of any side dish. Try the batch loaf (or half batch!) to start! Yum!

Finest pub in the Midlands - the beer, the food, the staff, the craic, the lot!

First time trying this restaurant after reading some very good reviews. Celebrating a birthday we thought to try something different and it didn't disappoint. The food was delightful and varied with an abundance of different flavours. The atmosphere was very relaxed as well which also made it enjoyable. Staff were friendly and attentive.

Excellent. Just make a booking and go to experience good food in a great atmosphere. Staff were brilliant. A great night for a special celebration.

Had a great meal for me and the family on Sunday 29th December. Reserved a table for around 3 pm, wasn't full so maybe not necessary but by the time we left it was absolutely full. We all had starters, main courses and desserts and everybody was happy with their meal. We had a member of our party that couldnt make the stairs and they have a lift which was great (we were on the 2nd floor). We had a vegatarian with us and they were well catered for although there wasnt a huge selection for them to pick from. the lamb shank was partciularly scrumptious, falling off the bone and so tender. The desserts were good, with the gingerbread cheesecake a lovely way to end the meal, see the little gingerbread men in the attached pictures. All of our party were fully satisfied and didnt need to eat until the next day!!

Had a fabulous evening (as usual) in the Batch on Saturday evening. I was out with friends for Christmas celebrations. The staff were so lovely and there was such a nice atmosphere around. Ben the waiter/bar man was so helpful and honestly couldn’t have done enough for us. We had the Korean chicken, goats cheese tart and chilli prawn risotto for starters. Couldn’t fault. And then for mains we had 2 burgers and the chicken supreme. 10/10 as always. We of course headed downstairs for some drinks after!
