There for St. Patrick’s Day lunch, 8 ppl to our table. Rude upstairs staff (waitress with long red hair) makes snappy comment about 3 kids dancing to the traditional music and playing in the center of the room. They were not rowdy or rude, they were being watched well, as it wasn’t very crowded. She said something along the lines of “you need to move the kids. I can barely walk though here myself, let alone with kids on the floor.” A simple “hi, can you please have the kids dance near the table?” would’ve been polite and the correct way to address patrons. We already knew she was clueless when asked if she had any St Patrick’s Day themed drinks (like green beer) and she said “what’s that?” It’s exactly what it’s called. Green beer, you know for the many guests you have here for the parade… she said no and after taking a couple drink orders walked away without finishing and didn’t come back until we went to the kind gentleman at the bar to ask for our order to be taken. She didn’t even bring the two ordered drinks. Would’ve stayed longer if we’d had someone else serving us. Her attitude and lack of customer service skills really put us all off.

Lovely place, and was pleased with the fish'n chips. Service was prompt even when the place was busy. The crowd did thin out after 8pm. A nice selection of draft beers and a simple menu to review made for quick selections.

Ordered a pint of rockshore larger and i tasted it and it was obviously cider and it was in a cider glass, i brought it back to bar and barman sniffed it and said it was larger but my partner tasted it and said it was cider as well , the barman reluctantly agreed to change it and slammed new drink on bar , ive never brought back a drink before and i think the staff should be sent on a customer relation course as ive never experienced such rudeness and i was very nice to courteous

Have had several meals now at the Cock tavern and everyone of them have been absolutely lovely. Would recommend anyone to drop in and they also have a Monday to Friday special meal which can be great value.
