The Dean Dublin in Dublin

Great hotel in a great location, but off putting check in and check out experience that brought it down to 3 stars. Booked direct and paid in full in advance, and was rushed through the check in so that we wouldn’t realize that we were downgraded to the worst/smallest room in the hotel - closest to the front main entrance, dirty, and too compact for a couple - made for a single traveller. Only once we brought it up to the hotel staff was it acknowledged, made us feel that they were very sneaky. It was St Patrick’s day, but when you pre-book and pay 5 months in advance, the expectation is that your room is held for you. Night manager Alan was very apologetic and promised to make it right, but there was a disconnect btwn night and day staff, so upon checkout - the promises made to us had to be fought to be upheld. We almost lost our deposit because the woman checking us out was unclear what we were being charged for. To the hotel, please train your front desk staff what hospitality truly means, as asking for what we paid for doesn’t mean we deserve to feel unwelcome throughout our stay. This woman pretty much snarled at us on our way in an out over the 4 days we spent there, while we observed her treating other guests with dignity. Luckily, day manager was wonderful and willing to listen/work with us and we got what we were promised. If staying here, recommend paying close attention during the check in, and stand up for yourself if the same happens to you.

Excellent 2 night midweek stay. Perfect location, spotlessly clean, great pool and gym facilities. Had a slight issue regarding the room on the first night, excellently dealt with by reception the following morning. Special mention to Dave and Katie, excellent customer service!! Most definitely return!!

The location and room is good but very poor services. No Drinking water delivered in time, No slippers, no toothpaste. Broken wash basin.

The Reception Staff were extremely friendly and also inviting to their great hotel, they have a great variety of merchandise right behind the counter and reasonably priced, I've bought 2 items and I have no complaints about them as they are made with good quality and nice to wear too. The Staff have warned us about the night clubs around and as they can be opened till after midnight and if we have any issues with that we can get right to them, ear plugs are supplied in your room and if not you can simply ask the receptionist for a pair. We stayed on the second floor and on entry to our room, we are welcomed with warm and cozy feeling, it was fabulous, super clean and tidy, well spaced out between furniture, modern and rustic feel to the room which I loved and definitely got inspiration from it. Absolutely recommend to friends, couples or family. Will be coming back soon😁💯.

Great location and the clubs near by didn’t effect our stay, but keep that in mind. You can ask for a more quiet room like we did and we never once heard them! The location was very convenient to Camden St., Grafton St. and temple bar area. We had a very peaceful stay even with the area it is in!

I made a last minute booking in the dean due to having a cancelled flight during the storm. The room was lovely and clean. Really impressive gym set up. The lovely receptionist when I was checking in gave me her own charger to use which was beyond helpful. Breakfast overlooking the city was gorgeous and all staff were so friendly and accommodating. The room was a little loud with the neighbouring nightclubs but to be expected given location. Thank you!!

Would leave more than 5 stars if I could. Booked this hotel for my girlfriends birthday and the staff here went above and beyond to ensure that the best possible service was given. The room was perfect but the stay was really made by the staff.

Excellent customer service at reception, lovely room and bathroom Fabulous breakfast at Sophie's

Went to Sophie's for my bday dinner with my partner and everything was great. We sat outside, the atmosphere was fantastic, and the food was outstanding. We had such a good time there that I will defo go back. It is the type of place where you can have a very fancy dinner or a casual one. They serve a mix of Italian and European. I really enjoyed the steaks. Great quality of food in general and it is a good spot for drinks over spring and summer. I will defo go back during the summer when it seems that they also serve BBQs.
