The dropping well is a great spot. There’s a large modern lounge that does food and the bar staff are very quick. It’s doggo friendly. The bar is older is style and more cosy.

Group of parish women out celebrating 100 years of supporting women in Zion Parish, Rathgar. Lovely roast beef dinner with all the trimmings was my choice - everything else was pronounced equally good. Thanks Trish and crew for looking after us so well

We had lunch at the Dropping Well and were seated by the window, offering a lovely view of the river. The food, however, was average and not particularly memorable. The fish & chips I ordered was overcooked and slightly dry inside, which was disappointing. On a positive note, the service was excellent, making the overall experience pleasant despite the underwhelming meal.

03/12/2024: update Dec 2024. Disappointed with the soup today. Eur 4.50 and it was very watered down. Expensive. They have a lovely goats cheese ciabatta on their menu which is very nice. They should sell crisps. Soup is not worth buying.. Lovely staff.

10/10/2024: Devastated to say after five years of just loving this place, I passed by last night and it has permanently closed. What a great crew and super neighbourhood restaurant. Gutted. It seems increasingly impossible to run a business in Dublin due to runaway costs.
18/08/2024: Estuve aquí antes y tuvimos una comida maravillosa y experiencia. Decidió ir de nuevo y ¿sabes qué? Absolutamente aún mejor! Tuve un. Plato de pasta de cangrejo y gambas que era fantástico mientras que mi esposa tenía pollo que era suculento. Los precios son muy justos y no desorbitados. Esta es una joya de un restaurante que hace todo bien con un gran servicio y excelente comida. Chef podría ganar Masterchef. Volveremos pronto. Muy, muy recomendable.
