The Dropping Well in Dublin

I attended a lunch with about 70 people yesterday at the Dropping Well. The lunch was to celebrate the memory of my parents-in-law. The food and service were absolutely excellent and we were warmly welcomed as everyone arrived and took their seats. The menu offered three courses including dessert platters. Trish Roddy, the brilliant front-of-house manager, was a true professional and a delight to work with in helping my partner to arrange the event including drinks throughout the meal. The establishment is situated close to the river Dodder with beautiful views along its banks. It was also great value for money. I highly recommend the Dropping Well for any occasion.

The staff and atmosphere are nice, which made for a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, the food was extremely basic and disappointing, especially given how nice everything else was. You would expect more for the price.

Fantastic place and the foods fantastic too

We we're here for a family funeral , staff were excellent, food was amazing, atmosphere is brilliant.

I go to the place for food and atmosphere, but the drinks are never tasty there and the older barista guy is always rude.

Delicious lunch. A few different bars to choose from. Parking area beside the Dropping Well fills up quickly. Popular place. Friendly helpful staff. For smokers, there are a good few seats right outside. A little noisy (echoey) in the upstairs bar.

Good food and excellent service.

I would give this place 100 stars if I could. First, the atmosphere is very welcoming, the deco has gorgeous pieces. The menu has variety of mains, entrances and sides. We ordered soup of the day, chowder, fish and chips, everything was delicious and well presented, with a special mention to the Guinness bread wich was fantastic. The staff was super friendly, they were attentive and helpful, they were on the details that make us enjoy our day even more. Definitely will come back and will recommend it. It's a great place for dinner after a nice walk around the park.
