Now that’s what I call THE Caesar salad! Not just some lettuce, random dip, few pieces of chicken meat and here you go. Nope! This was an absolute culinary masterpiece—fresh, perfectly seasoned, high-quality ingredients, and prepared with real care and passion. Tastes like a slice of heaven. The restaurant itself is stunning. The interior design is modern, stylish, and cozy all at once, creating a fantastic atmosphere whether you are stopping by for a casual lunch or a great dinner. Superbly situated right by the water that make the dining experience even more special. Top-class service from start to finish. The staff were extremely friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome the moment we walked through the door. If you are looking for exceptional food, great vibes, and brilliant service in a beautiful setting, this spot is a absolute must-visit!

Lunch stop before the theatre for 4 people.First visit to this gastro pub..First impressions were good, menu was nice and fair prices, staff friendly and attentive.Very few customers so lacked a buzz and atmosphere.Sadly the food was mediocre,The crab roll was tastless,didnt taste crab or any nice flavours from aioli or apple coleslaw, the other three friends had buttermilk chicken wraps and all agreed it was dry and bland.Chips and coffee were nice,overall we were disappointed.

The meat in the chicken burger was tough, and the beef burger just wasn’t juicy. The chips weren’t cooked through. All in all, we didn’t like it. But the selection of beer is good

As a 60 year old hotel owner from New York who has spent decades in the hospitality industry, I feel compelled to share a balanced review of my recent experience at The Waterbank / Grand Canal Hotel in Dublin. First and foremost, I must commend the bar service, particularly bartenders Kyle (from Italy) and Francesco (from Portugal). Their professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine passion for their craft were truly exceptional. From thoughtful drink recommendations to the preparation of outstanding cocktails (best whiskey sours) for both my wife and me, they delivered a level of service that stands out even by international standards. I was genuinely impressed so much so that, if the opportunity arose, I would gladly invite them to join a future hotel venture of mine here in Dublin. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the table service. The experience with the waitstaff was deeply disappointing. There was a clear lack of coordination, supervision, and basic training. At one point, we waited over 15 minutes without being attended to, while several staff members (including supervisors) stood near the bar chatting, laughing, and behaving in a manner that felt highly unprofessional. This reflects not only poor service execution but also a concerning lack of leadership and accountability from management. There is significant room for improvement in this area, and it should be addressed urgently. That said, the overall atmosphere is lovely, the décor is well done, the staff are generally friendly, and the food is of good quality. However, due to the inconsistency in service, I would rate this experience 3 stars. LARGELY thanks to the exceptional performance of the bar team! John M.
