The lunchtime carvery is nice but very overpriced it's not worth the price they charge for standard pub grub. I would expect table service instead of queueing up for my food for prices like this. It's awkward when I have to negotiate 2 trays with dinners for elderly family members who can't get up to queue and other bits like gravy boats, etc. because I can only carry 1 tray at a time, so it's stressful when there's a queue of people behind me waiting to come back to get the 2nd tray. I do not recommend the desserts because they don't taste fresh and are just sitting on a cold shelf to help yourself. There are only 2 choices of starters, soup and breaded mushrooms with garlic dip, which is extremely expensive. If my memory serves me right, it costs €7.50 for a mushroom starter. I do love the gravy and white sauce here. They never change the menu. It's the same every weekend and they have not had roast lamb in such a long time. Increasing their prices and reducing their menu is no incentive to go back regularly. BTW I am aware everywhere has had to increase their prices, but it's over the top for a carvery that doesn't keep the nice thing's they used to have on the menu. They also dilute the mint sauce to a very runny vinegary solution which I'm sure they think we don't notice. When you request extra things with your dinner, you have to ask a few times or you're forgotten about and almost finished your meal by the time they arrive with your order

We went to the Glenside for its tasty carvery and really enjoyed it. Nice choice of options and everything looked delicious. Would definitely recommend here for lunch/dinner.
