The Pound & The Attic in Swords

Lively smaller pub with great bar staff.

A quirky quaint snug (of pub) with friendly staff and good Guinness located beside the amazing Swords Castle. Both well worth a visit.

Decent selection of local/craft beers and cocktails. The Guinness unfortunately can be hit and miss lately.

My Wife and I recently traveled to Ireland to celebrate my 40th birthday. Swords was the closest place we could find right out the airport that had a castle. While in the castle I felt the immediate urge to use the restroom. I ran into this pub (mind you this is around 1030 AM or so). I'm 6'4 and have a Texan accent was wearing a bright red leather jacket, so I'm sure I startled the barkeep. I texted my wife to come into the bar so we could buy something as to lessen how awkward it was. There I had my first pint of Guinness in Ireland. I wish I knew the barkeep's name, but this was our first time there and we were getting our feet under us. (I made it a point going forward to ask for names) Anyways, this pint the first, was unequivocally the best Pint. Sarah and I literally went to all four corners of this amazing Island and this one was by far the best pour. Even better than the pints I had at the Guinness warehouse. The man knows his stuff. If I ever go back, I'll thank him. The foam consistency, the cascade of the golden Guinness, the bubble at the top of the glass and then the crispness of the Guiness at the first taste. I am telling you if you want to experience the best Guinness has to offer, go here. Well done sir.

Nice cosy little pub.. staff friendly and efficient

Always a fun time here, first floor opens during weekend. Good during sports season and right next to the main Street which is easy to access and get to.

It's a bit pricey for what it is, you're paying city prices in a suburban town...
