The Shoreline Bar & Bistro in

Loved everything, had the seafood chowder, absolutely delicious and heartwarming. Also had the Burger, mmmmmmmmm tasty. Staff were really friendly.

I didn't have high expectations, for some reason I had convinced myself this place would just be average. How wrong I was. Absolutely gorgeous, friendly staff, amazing views and food that came quickly and was really delicious. A bit more family focused than I like personally, but that's not a criticism, just personal preference.

Food was only ok. Excellent location friendly staff

The venue is beautiful, clean and well laid out. The view is 10 out of 10. The food was good, a great range on the menu but our experience with the staff was not great. We were seated at our table, no one came to take our drinks order, we were waiting for 10 minutes, I finally piled all the menus to one side to indicate we were ready to order, we ordered our meal and drinks but the meal came before the drinks, which is a first for me. In fairness the kitchen manager apologised and talk to our server about our drinks which came a few minutes later. But no one came to check in during the meal, we waited for almost 15 minutes after we were done and the only reason why someone came over to clear the plates is because we grabbed them. At one point there were 4 servers standing not ten feet away from us, ignoring the busy restaurant around them and chatting. Friendly enough when you got to interact with them but need to be more efficient and attentive.

We were in Donabate and decided to try the Shoreline Hotel for lunch as we had heard a bit about it. Was busy enough when we were there. Hotel is located right on the coast with great views of the sea. We were lucky to get a table by the window. The burger I had was delicious but the chips were just o.k.. My wife had Chicken Tikka which she said was fantastic. Desserts looked good but we did not have any. Opted instead for a hot chocolate and a coffee both of which were good. Young staff but very well trained. They exuded friendliness and a desire to make your visit exceptional. Will definitely return. There is a lovely coat walk from here to Portrane and back which we did.

I stayed for one night in the Shoreline. I had to keep my curtains pulled as I was located room on ground floor and other hotel guests walking around outside could clearly see into my room. I suggest tinted glass effect windows for privacy for groundfloor. Breakfast instructions was not so clear as I ended up taking breakfast only set out for the Ukrainian refugees staying in the hotel. Only a Ukrainian woman came over to me and said that area is allocated for Ukrainians only. Staff were not very forthcoming to assist as I was waiting for 10 mins when it wasn't busy at the counter to pay for food to leave. However the Shoreline is a nice spot for food and a walk along the beach.
