What a gem of a pub! You'll find it down a back street behind Dame Street. On entering you'll find a fabulously preserved Victorian interior. The Guinness was good and the staff were attentive, with glasses cleared and tables cleaned and readied for the next customers very quickly. There's a popular comedy club in the basement too. Definitely worth a visit!

Historic pub with excellent food and atmosphere.

One of the best pubs in Dublin. We went on a Friday afternoon and the place was packed; being a group of four, we decided to stay outside near the entrance. This area, called Dame Lane, is very pleasant for having a pint outside when the weather is nice. The place has a strong sense of history.

Brilliant pub, atmosphere and music was great but most of the review is for Paddy and his team that were on shift on the 27th of Feb. I travel alone often and so am used to my own company but Paddy’s service and the personality with which he approached his work made me feel welcome and not alone at all. Easy going amidst the busyness, he found time to make sure my glass was always full and have the odd chat during the downtime. It might seem like a small thing but it resulted in my feeling like a guest rather than just another customer, and in turn my 1 drink turned into 3 or 4 on account of his efforts. Dublin is turning into an annual visit, and I’ll be sure to drink here again next year 🤘🏼
