The Sugar Club in Dublin

Went to an interesting talk here. Looks nice & comfortable, but seats were hard to find because the sofas fit 4 but many were being hogged by 2.

Nice, cosy club with a welcoming atmosphere and good music. The place has plenty of character, although the décor feels a bit outdated and there’s a slight old-fashioned smell. Still, it’s a fun spot for a night out and worth a visit if you enjoy intimate venues.

I attended one of the free events at Sugar Club today. The music was great—a jazz piano performance with influences of bossa nova and Portuguese fado. Unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing. The venue seemed overcrowded and not designed to accommodate so many people. It became very hot and uncomfortable, and despite it being summer with temperatures around 21°C, the air conditioning was not turned on. The seating was also a problem. The tables are clearly designed for larger groups, so my girlfriend and I ended up being squeezed by other guests. There were also two fixed benches directly in front of us, making the space feel even more cramped. By the end of the event, our backs were hurting from how uncomfortable the seating was. I can't say whether the paid events offer a better experience, but the free event certainly lacked comfort. Although the music was excellent, the overall experience wasn't enjoyable, and it didn't make us want to come back.

Nice venue but the outdoor area is the highlight. Staff quite friendly and it's a shame they have a good menu quite limited.

Good place to watch a football match during the world cup. Lively atmosphere!

A welcoming Club with a nice diversity of music offerings. Converted Cinema space. Tiered seating, with tables, as it was formerly a cinema space in the 1970s. A modest size dance floor and stage with background visuals potential add to the atmosphere. Excellent friendly staff. Security are effective. Great outdoor area has improved recently and offers a second sound stage, as well as a large smoking area. Lacks some modern aspects, like A/C but is a fun visit worth your time. A spot even Dubliners may not know or appreciate.

Good venue for music. Nice staff. Seats/ Tables should be numbered its a bit of a scrum when doors open.

We went for live show. Not that spacious but have good vibe. There is no food option except pizza.

One of the best venues for live music in Dublin. Always a great atmosphere, clean toilets and friendly staff. No Guinness on tap, not sure if that's such a bad thing tbf.

Recently visited here for a concert. Great atmosphere and sound. The service at the bar was excellent even though it was busy the staff were very professional and friendly and kept things moving and reasonable prices for drinks. Would highly recommend the Sugar Club.
