A proper pint, poured by what’s probably the friendliest publican in Dublin.

As an American we were welcomed into this fantastic locals pub. The service and patrons were fantastic. My family and I spent around 90 minutes chatting with the staff and patrons. We arrived as strangers and left as friends. Drinks were wonderful and an easy must see if it's your first time in Dublin.

How to share the Windjammer ... especially in the morning? For historical reasons, it remains a pub open at 7 AM. And along with the history, a visit almost always has the makings of a great "short story" experience, if one is truly open and inclined to reap such winds and appreciate the rawness of Joyce, Steinbeck, Twain and others. Absolutely not the place for the generic tourist ... but alas ... here is the beauty ... it is hands down wonderful if you want to understand true Dub and meet Shane, Aoife, Sean, Lize, Jimmy, Anto and regulars, and dive into all sorts everyday things for discussion, and they just welcoming and even smile and laugh with ignorant questions -- they have heard them all. This is true Dublin ... and enjoy!

Opens at 7AM and is about true Dublin pub as it gets. We were the only "out of towners" in there with a local Rugby team and locals reading the paper having a pint. An absolute not to miss.

Clonsilla Inn

31/08/2025: Nice family pub in a Dublin suburb. The food is very good and the atmosphere is really nice. Football fans will also get their money's worth. Sports are broadcast on several screens.
20/08/2025: I ate here on a Wednesday afternoon and ordered turkey, chips and salad. The turkey was absolutely rank, it was grey and stank, I had a bite but just couldn't eat it..definitely off and definitely left over from the weekends carvery. I've had Sunday carvery here and it was delicious but this time I was shocked and so disappointed. The chips and salad were lovely and fresh which is why I said nothing. My friends thought their food was fine, average. The place needs a good deep clean too, it smells during the day. Bar staff took his time to respond to us. I'll never forget that turkey!

30/09/2025: We went in on a Saturday morning around 11 - for an late breakfast / early lunch. The place was buzzing and we didn't have to wait for a table at all. Food was amazing (I went for the Full Irish). Staff are very friendly and attentive. The food was served so quickly. Will defitely be returning!
