Valley Lodge in Carrickmacross

Very busy for Sunday lunch, would need to book - food was pretty average and service was slow as they were so busy.

Ate here over the weekend, food is excellent, no problem with the food. The service is shocking. Need to train some of the staff. Plenty of staff in floating around in their own wee world. Had to ask for menus 20mins after arriving, then had to ask to order 10mins later, Food then arrived 30mins after order, which would have been ok if we hadnt been waiting 35mins before ordering. There are 2 areas in this place downstairs and upstairs, seems if you are put upstairs you fend for yourself and hope for the best. However saving grace was the food was actually spot on. Maybe just get some serving staff.

I had the steak sandwich perfectly cooked. My niece had the beef burger and it was excellent. Only bad thing is we were asked if everything was OK. after that, we never saw anyone serving to catch their attention. No offer of deserts or tea and coffee.

Everything excellent. Restaurant was very clean and big portions of food! Service was a touch slow but we are American so we probably have different standards, Haha!! Food was reasonably priced and staff was very friendly. So happy we stopped there! We had the chicken Supreme and roast lamb.
