Variety Jones in Dublin

A nice space with welcoming front of house. The acoustics are bad - great sound track, softly spoken staff = straining to hear. And we’re not hard of hearing. The food rotated from excellent, to good to average. The price doesn’t allow for average. The most disappointing aspect was the service. Quite rushed. Relatively unfriendly. The waiters believe that keeping to your set 2 hour slot is more important than avoiding interrupting your conversation. Tasty meal overall. I wouldn’t return.

We had a really enjoyable meal at Variety Jones and would highly recommend. The restaurant is gorgeous, really cosy with a lovely atmosphere. The staff are so friendly and the sommelier gave us a lovely wine recommendation that wasn’t the most expensive wine on the list. The food was delish, portion sizes are definitely larger than most fine dining restaurants and sadly the night we dined, had no options on the main or the starter. We would 100% go back again!

Must try for a special occasion in Dublin. We went for my partners birthday and they treated us so well. We also did their wine pairing which I would recommend if it’s your first time going. Was slightly nervous going in and not knowing what we were going to be served but the flavours worked so well together (who would’ve thought tuna, watermelon and jalapeños would work well together!?. Deffo save for a special occasion.

You can tell the staff are passionate about what they do, this isn’t just their “job”. The hospitality was wonderful. The food was fantastic, a great build of unique yet composed flavors. We could not believe the portion sizes for each course, it was unlike any tasting menu I have ever experienced where you typically get a couple bites each course. I was bursting at the seams by the time we left because I didn’t want to leave any bites behind! Variety Jones has it right in every sense of the word. Well done and thank you for a memorable evening for two Americans!

From start to finish, an amazing experience. It was one of the things we were most looking forward to on our honeymoon, and the entire Variety Jones team absolutely delivered! Thank you!

Food was great, interesting. Little bit of disappointment / confusion over the main course where we would have preferred to be given the choice of which one to have - put a slightly sour taste at the end of an otherwise outstanding menu.

My husband and I dined here last night and wow what an experience! Food and service was amazing. Wine pairing was lovely and generous! Our personal favourites was the spaghetti Alfredo and baked Alaska. We shall be back!

I came here with my husband recently after getting a voucher as a gift from a friend and it was a really special and memorable evening! Not your average dining experience at all, it's definitely a far superior dining experience... It's a taster menu so you don't have to worry about choosing what to order, it is all brought down to you and each dish is unique and interesting and most importantly delicious.... We got the wine pairings for each course (there are 6) which I definitely would recommend as it totally added to the whole experience and the sommelier really knew what they were talking about... Loved the evening there so much and would highly recommend it 👌 Also worth noting the portions are the perfect size and you will be perfectly full after them.

Fantástica comida y vino, servicio amable y excelente, atento pero no intrusivo. Primera vez comiendo en el restaurante aunque tuvimos la suerte de conseguir una comida "box" durante el covid. La comida de caja tan impresionante que ha estado en la lista de deseos para una visita desde entonces. El sabor de todo lo de anoche fue TAN bueno, que algunas grandes influencias asiáticas le dieron rizo a cada bocado. Fue una comida emocionante y los maridajes de vinos funcionaron muy bien. Esperamos demasiado tiempo para llegar al restaurante, no vamos a retrasar la próxima visita. Muy recomendable.

Si bien la comida era muy sabrosa (no muy 5 estrellas), este lugar merece grandes elogios por la presentación y el servicio. Todo era precioso y para el tamaño de la porción, el menú de seis platos es una ganga!
