Variety Jones in Dublin

One of the best meals and bottle of wine I’ve ever had. Great service, with incredible attention to detail. The food was very unique and delicious.

Everything is perfect. Decor, wine list, cleanliness and obviously food. For me, the best place in Dublin by far!

Ok, honestly didnt know what to expect. Chief choice, what the hell is this? Well this was amazing, we took the matching wine menu and we were soo glad we did. From simple looking, but complicated flavours in the food to matching wines from a very knowledgeable sommillier(cant spell it) the evening was amazing 👏. My compliments to the whole team from kitchen to front of house. Cheesey Ice-cream... like in mentioned to the staff and chief, I dont like it, gimme another spoonfuls, I still dont like it.. gimme some more. I cant explain it, it was strangely morish! Would i recommend it? Hell yes But do not the menu I had will more than likely not be the menu you have. This makes it that little bit more exciting.

Variety Jones is just so unique and lovely. It’s one of those places where you can feel the care in every plate without it ever feeling showy, pretentious or overdone. Each course arrives with a bit of magic that's totally a surprise, comforting and full of flavour and we found ourselves slowing down and really paying attention. It’s warm, relaxed and just quietly brilliant. The food stays in your mind (and soul!) long after the meal is over. Excellent staff and the service was wonderful! We got the feeling that everyone genuinely enjoys working there and they want you to enjoy your experience too. Dublin, I really hope you appreciate what's on your doorstep with this magnificent culinary jewel of a place.

Excellent evening here. Staff was amazing, lovely to see the calm and happy vibe in the kitchen vs a sometimes overly intense atmosphere one might expect. Their standard chefs menu approach allows focus on the overall evening with no concerns about choosing the right or wrong thing. Noise levels manageable and allow conversation comfortably, decor and music were fine, table sizes and comfort also had no issues. The food was a great blend of global influences and techniques without becoming cliche or too trend focused. The excitement was at its peak with the snacks and starters, settling in a comfortable spot as the courses went on. The chef and the staff would pass by with every course to explain the various items presented. Massive standouts were the tiny sourdough crumpet snacks topped with gribiche and egg which were truly a perfect bite, the dashi with the celeriac and seafood ramen with so much depth of flavor, and the fresh waffles with the duck paté that smelled absolutely amazing. The apple dessert, especially combined as it should be with the two types of ice cream that comes with was also very good despite being at risk of seeming commonplace given how many places do apple pies/tarts etc. The sommelier was also very calm and conversational, happy to go over the wine options in detail. Tried a light Rhone in the beginning and a lovely Slovenian option later on, both red. At €100 per head before drinks, given Dublin prices, the evening did not seem too expensive either for the level of service and techniques delivered.

It was a great experience. The food was wonderful and kept coming! I did the wine pairing and I definitely recommend it. Staff was great and it’s a very well organized and inviting restaurant.

Great experience!! Food was excellent, lots of different plates to share, full of varied flavours, cooked nicely. Wine list was interesting, lots of different options, we went for an Austrian red, it worked very well with our meal. Service was perfect from the minute we entered the restaurant everyone was very friendly and knew what they were doing, we didn't feel rushed, everything was timed perfectly.

We showed up on a Thursday thinking we had a reservation. It turns out we were wrong and the reservation was for the week after. Regardless, the management quickly checked availability and we were given a table close to the kitchen. Both the tasting menu and the service was perfect. The menu had many of my favourites just like they knew I was coming a week early 🤣We enjoyed every bite every sip and every interaction. Kudos to Savi for getting a table for us and the Sommelier for her perfect pronunciation of Hungarian words while telling us about our wine. I’d definitely return!

Went here for my sister's 40th birthday. It was an amazing experience. The service was very professional with a nice personal touch. The food was faultless. It felt very comfortable and smooth. Time flew and we had a great time. Highly recommended. Special mention for the great playlist.
