Whites Restaurant at the Shirley Arms Hotel in Carrickmacross

Just spent four nights at the Shirley Arms Hotel (Mon-Fri). From first contact (email query), the team have been fantastic 👏 The hotel is lovelly, and all of the team are super welcoming, friendly and helpful, but a special shout out to Aoibheann in the bar restaurant, who was super fantastic 👍 Food was lovelly, and by far my favorite was the Sizzler steak dish with creamy garlic potato gratin (see picture) 🫡 I should say, that I had already ate some, and cut the potatoes up, so the picture probably doesn't do the food full justice 🤔 Some people have commented (negatively) on the cost of the food, and yep - they are not the cheapest, but - and here's the thing, you get what you pay for, . . . For me, I received value for money, and wouldn't think twice about staying here again in the future 😎 Lots of onsite parking, great rooms and attentive housekeeping for the rooms, and if you have forgotten anything a 'Super Valu' supermarket next door, . . . . . . . Seriously, what's not to like 🙂

A hidden beauty, staff are extremely helpful and accommodation, food is very well priced , room is lovely and well furnished, shower is very warm which i personally like, and ample parking with gated and cctv , 5 stars all day long

Brilliant Christmas party dinner with work colleagues. Everyone was very happy with their food and choice variety.

We used this hotel for a recent surprise coffee event for a friend's birthday. The service was generous and staff were very accommodating and friendly. I would definitely recommend using this hotel for a get together.

From the minute you walk in the door at reception you know this is a special place to be. The staff are so engaging and friendly and can't do enough for you. The room we were given was spotlessly clean and very well appointed. At dinner that evening was fantastic and everything was served with a smile and a bit of crack. Menu was great with plenty to cater for all tastes and was cooked to perfection. The only downside was that were only staying for 1 night. We were over for a wedding and stayed another 2 nights at Cabra castle. If we are back in this area again we will definitely be staying at the Shirley.
