The Shamrock
An fál carrach
30/09/2025: During my recent trip to Donegal, my hosts introduced me to a true hidden gem - The Shamrock Lodge🍀Nestled in the heart of town, this cozy pub is far more than a place for a pint - it’s a gathering spot where the local community comes together, stories flow as freely as the laughter, and friendships are built.
What struck me most was that you don’t need to raise a glass of Irish beer to feel the spirit of the place - the warmth, camaraderie, and hospitality embrace you the moment you step inside.
If you ever find yourself in Donegal, don’t miss this little haven. A heart, heritage, and a true Irish welcome! Here’s to new friends, timeless traditions, and finding community wherever you go.

Chinese Palace
An fál carrach
27/10/2025: We had a beef curry with fried rice and a spice bag. The beef was tender and the curry sauce had a good kick as we had asked for it to be spicy. The rice was average but nothing to complain about. The spice bag was tasty. Salty chips and tender chicken. Service was quick. If I’m ever back this way I’ll be back again
08/07/2025: Possibly the worst chinese on the island.
They used tinned spam for the ham fried rice. (Rice wasn't even fried)
Chicken kung po was literally just water and cornstarch to thicken it.
Curry sauce was gritty and rancid.
Avoid at all costs.
