07/06/2025: Not only is the food fresh, the staff very pleasant, and the atmosphere wonderful, but you can also buy their Guiness bread by the loaf for take away! (Preordered needed). The big super salad has everything you’d want in it too! I spent two weeks at Oideas Gael and the meals, desserts and coffee did not disappoint. Did I mention the bread?? ❤️

I can’t recommend John Eoinín’s in Glencolmcille, Co. Donegal enough. It’s one of those gems you’re always glad you found.
The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and the staff are incredibly friendly and attentive — nothing is too much trouble There was a trad session on in the wee bar
The food? Absolutely second to none. I had the seafood platter salad, and it was simply outstanding — so fresh, full of flavour, and presented beautifully. You can really taste the quality and care that goes into everything they serve.
A must-visit if you’re in the area. Can’t wait to go back.
