15/04/2025: I previously visited this restaurant and was very disappointed with the quality of the food and most importantly the attitude of the maitre d. I did a review at the time and for some mysterious reason it has been deleted.
Based on feedback from some friends I decided I would give it a go again as it is the only restaurant in the village that is quiet and comfortable. Although we had booked well in advance and had asked for a table downstairs we were told we had to go upstairs with no explanation or apology from the maitre d. As it turned out the staff upstairs could not have been more helpful or friendly and took our order immediately. The bottle of wine (a cheap Primitivo) was quite expensive but drinkable. The steak for the Surf and Turf was ribeye rather than fillet and came medium well instead of medium rare as ordered. All in all the food was edible but the friendly young waiting staff carried the evening. The Maitre D should stay at home and let the staff run the show. He has no personality and certainly one of the grumpiest I’ve met
29/03/2025: Just walked nine as a family of four and we were accommodated with a cosy table immediately. Food was excellent. Very tasty and great portion and the service was friendly and super efficient. We will definitely be back soon.

25/04/2025: €57 for takeaway for 2 people! We got one pizza which is tiny, one pasta dish, 10 chicken wings and chips. Crazy price. Would never spend more than €40 on takeaway. Now I know why they don’t have prices on their menus online. Tasty food but no takeaway is worth €57. Can’t believe the price, that’s dine in prices. Pizza also way too small for the price.
23/03/2025: Restaurant entrance is very low key but once you climb the stairs you receive a warm welcome from very friendly staff. Food wise there are some great choices and portions are huge. Well worth a visit very much recommend.

Ordered on Just Eat and order gets accepted, only for the
restaurant to ring me demanding an extra €5 for Delivery as we are outside of their usual 'delivery radius'. Of course, I refuse this as the order was originally accepted and ask them, if they wont deliver to simply refund the order.
The restaurant worker then decides to develop a horrible attitude on the phone, and after being passed around to 3 different members of staff they eventually refuse refund, telling me to contact Just Eat.
Just Eat will not provide a refund when it is processed on the user side after an order it has been accepted - and i have a feeling the staff knew this, as one of them said, "You need to take their money not mine."
Why did this restaurant originally accept this order, if they knew it was outside their usual delivery radius?
Do they just hope people cave in and pay the extra fee?
UPDATE ON THIS >>>>>>>>>>> MORNING AFTER
So apparently... Just Eat was contacted by the restaurant, and they have confirmed they 'attempted to deliver this order' and 'attempted contact via phone' - neither of which happened.
Therefore Just Eat will not process a refund.
Why would the restaurant attempt delivery after being told to cancel? After all, they originally said this was outside of their delivery radius. They were under the impression I was in the midst of getting a refund from Just Eat? Were they going to deliver the food for free?
Of course they weren't...
This is a scam.
I'm sure I'm not the first and wont be the last.

16/03/2025: Incompetent. They wanted more for delivery which I do not have cash to pay. They refuse to cancel my order so I am not able to get a refund. Their delivery prices are set up wrong which they are aware of, why would you accept the order and then refuse to cancel it. Bunch of incompetent people

20/10/2024: First time at Slevins, stumbled across while in Dunboyne, stopped in for Sunday dinner.
Great decor, welcoming, attentive staff and spotless clean. Good selection on the menu. Food did not disappoint. Best roast pork I have had, full of flavour and cooked perfectly! Each element down to the vegetables were done right. Will be back.

Called in on a Sunday morning the place was almost empty apart from 1 family of 6 people. We were not greeted or shown to a table. We went over to a table and sat down, we were seated for at least 15 minutes before any staff approached us and took orders for tea/coffee, waited another 10 minutes before cold tea/coffee arrived, server took breakfast order and we waited at least another 20/25 minutes before the order arrived, (taking into account that at least 5 staff were walking around the empty pub)! The food wasn't high quality produce, the presentation was very slap dash and the service brutal. I will definitely not be returning to this place. Very disappointing experience!!!
