31/03/2026: Let’s get the good news out of the way first – there are currently better restaurants in Donegal, and this diner has plenty of room for improvement. Despite our previous (rather underwhelming) experiences, we decided to give it another chance and went there for a meal yesterday. Unfortunately, we were thoroughly disappointed!
Our table was constantly in the draught from the ceiling-mounted air conditioning, and the food ranged from below average to poor.
My main course (salmon) was served lukewarm to cold and had the lack of seasoning you’d expect from a care home meal. After I complained, the (very modest) salmon fillet was reluctantly taken away by the mediocre waitstaff.
It was then heated in the microwave and served again, supposedly warm – surely that can’t have been the standard, can it?
The other dishes for our group of four guests were also of rather below-average quality and, above all, just as lukewarm.
A side note – my piece of fish was still raw in the middle – that was the end of my appetite.
All in all, this restaurant has plenty of room for improvement – I hope this review has given the team food for thought?
Until then, however, I’ll be looking elsewhere – a shame, unfortunately a maximum of 2 out of 5 …

… Just a quick update: I’ve only just found out that we were also let down by the prices! This is because the portion of mashed potato, which we considered part of the side dish, was charged at over €5 extra! Serving up meagre, poorly prepared dishes and passing on the extra costs to customers is simply unacceptable! Hence just one star, although no star would be more appropriate. I will never visit this place again and can only warn others against it – shame on you!
16/11/2025: Great place for a good meal.
Very large servings, and service was brilliant.
