19/02/2025: My wife and I dropped in here yesterday for dinner at luchtime.Everything was top class.An excellent dinner and dessert at a reasonable price.The staff were courteous and friendly.Very handy with a car park just opposite.Highly recommended!

12/02/2025: Stopped in here for good pub grub as have heard good things! However, what we got wasn’t up to the great standards people rave about. I ordered the lasagna, my partner got the stir fry and we got chicken wings to share. Chicken wings, couldn’t be faulted lovely and crispy. Lasagna was horribly dry, as if they attempted to heat it up and melt the cheese at the same time, with no clingfilm over it..so the mince dried out completely and clumped together. If I hadn’t of waited 15 mins already I would have sent it back. As for the stir fry, my dad’s old leather boots are of similar texture-super dry, to the point that if not washed down with a fizzy drink would definitely pose a choking hazard. My partner had enough and decided to wash it down with a cold pint of Heineken 0.0, Shur what could go wrong right? No. Glass clearly hadn’t been washed out properly or they had lemon fresh tablets in the dishwasher, Heineken with a hint of citrus! Not so yum! Over all, didn’t cause a fuss but wish I had of because the food was just not up to par at all. Lovely staff, could be more attentive but hey! Who wants staff checking in on them anyways👌

02/02/2025: Absolute disgraceful. I'd give ye no stars only for the sake of this review to be submitted and probably not even reviewed, it may do. Last night I went out with friends and my partner for a meal and some drinks. We entered the Bridge Bar and the music was great, as always as I've been coming here for years and I've never had any issues I may add, until now. On my arrival, with my girlfriend and two friends of mine, we observed a man completely intoxicated, grabbing a group of women by their hair and coming into their personal space. As we moved around throughout the bar during the night, we found comfort in standing at the dj box close to the men's toilets near the dancefloor. We were just simply looking to have a good night and take it easy. The man, I mentioned previous still highly intoxicated, approached us, my friend, my girlfriend and I but he approached myself mainly. At this point, he put out his hand to shake mine, I didn't necessarily want to shake his hand but I did to avoid confrontation, please note that now going forward as it's very important. He then put his thumb into my face and leaned in towards me, please note that this is my personal space and he was now in it. I gently pushed him out of my way to which because of the amount of alcohol he had consumed, sent him flying half way down the dancefloor to where a group of unfortunate women had to move out of the way. I presumed this was the end of the confrontation until I, not looking, felt a thump on the side of my face on my jawline. The bouncer on the steps near the dancefloor then moved the man away to which he made eye contact with me and he was extremely aggressive. This same bouncer with the assistance of another bouncer, moved this man to the side and he came back over to me in which he said "you're gone". I'm not a bouncer but I know that you cannot and will not be thrown out anywhere for pushing someone, it's who escalates with the first punch. Various people on the night witnessed this all unfold and tried to plead with the bouncer not to throw me out, people who were strangers to me of course. After some time the situation was resolved with another bouncer letting me back in but the night was completely ruined at this stage. I'm extremely disappointed with how the initial bouncer handled the situation. I enjoy going to the Bridge Bar and have done for many years, but this situation has led me to submit this review and unfortunately in unfortunate circumstances.

19/12/2024: Called in on the 18th of December,just before christmas. The atmosphere in this once lovely bar is gone,it's as sterile as an operating theatre and just as much fun. The waitress,an older woman,was kind helpful and efficient.The menu was very limited for me as I'am vegetarian so I asked for a pot of tea and a plate of chips.the chips came in a small bowel and I put it out on my saucer and it barely filled it! Some of those chips were hard and inedible. The chips alone came to nearly €5.00! An older man arrived at the table beside me and the bar man took his order.the customer wanted to pay there and then but the bar man ( heavy set with facial hair ) told him "no its ok you can pay later so long as you pay " he was not smiling either......I was so embarrassed as was the elderly gentleman....such disrespect and so unprofessional The portions are small and the price for a very basic food item is very high,for example a portion of pasta with a handful of vegetables and a little sauce is €20+. A middle aged couple arrived and asked to look at the menu but they left just as promptly. Keep going as you are going and the doors WILL close for good next year. Its a sad state of affairs as this place was once the beating heart of Tullamore, believe it or not. A lot of staff training is needed ( with the exception of the older waitress ) and an examination of your price structure....do both of those thing soon.... ...........before its too late
