ACES Limerick in Limerick

Atmosphere unique 👌 food a little pricey but I loved my two dishes. Service needs improvement.

Had an amazing meal and drinks. Fabulous service by Vicky all night. We really enjoyed our night!

The room is excellent: well designed and the acoustics mean you hear a gentle background noise, not other people's conversations. The food is excellent. Well crafted dishes, beautifully presented. The service though... 1 greeter, 5 barmen and 7 waitresses but we were left waiting for everything. Menus, drink order, drinks... When there are too many staff, as here, they spend more time talking to each other or handing each other dishes and glasses than they do looking after guests. The owners are losing money here in salaries and lost orders

Great spot! I’ve been here a few times now and you’re always guaranteed great food. The food did not disappoint! Our only issues were with service (which was in their control) and not being able to enjoy the outdoor space (out of their control) due to kids taking it over and jumping around the place. We’ll still be back though. The food is too good not to.

Reason for low score, sorry Aces. To be clear, place was quite not very busy. We sat at our table and no one came over in 11 mins to offer us a drink. We had closed our menus within mins of arriving as we knew what to order, so we sat there, no drinks and no one taking order. That's annoying. I gestured to a waiting staff, who by the way was standing there, aimlessly looking around, we were ready. Very nice girl, took our order timely. Our food started to arrive and the girl carrying the potatoes, clearly has no training in table service as she held a ramkin dish in her hand and had balanced a bowl in the crook of arm, where her braces were almost skimming the food. So strange. No one came near us at any stage to offer us more drinks. I also witness 2 waitress emerged from kitchen chewing food and walking through restaurant, as well as lifting plates still chewing. And this was when we were still waiting to order. And as a result I never left a tip and I always tip as it's a tough job. On the food, I had the goats cheese salad which was nice but badly constructed. All rest of the food was lovely

Food was great and portions quite large for tapas style. We enjoyed our night at Aces however we felt that the drinks service was quite slow, with our food arriving before our drinks and then further drinks orders taking 15mins+ to arrive.
