Super lovely restaurant. Food was incredible and the owners were so lovely! As this is a very small restaurant, you need to be prepared that some main dishes might be unavailable when you're very late, as they can't really overstock and potentially waste food. But I'd say that's understandable. I had the monkfish stew as a main and the bread & olives and fried mushrooms as starter. Super delicious. Very sad I was too full for dessert, looking forward to coming back!

An unassuming but very nice restaurant with a small, easy-to-navigate menu. We had a very good meal and can highly recommend it.

What a find! Happened upon it by chance and got the last table for a set menu special meal. Three dishes and three wines for €54. Well worth every penny. Service excellent, food delicious and wine delightful. Proper authentic Portuguese food with hearty portions.

In Galway, everything even remotely healthy closes early (most cafes and brunch spots, anything else requires a reservation well in advance). This restaurant is a great respite if youre looking for a dinner that isnt a heavy fried meal or anything that seems questionable for those with sensitive stomachs like myself. My husband and i got the Quibe and pork dishes. I had never had Portuguese food before but I have been won over. This place is well worth the visit.

The place is small but don't let that deter you from eating there. A cosy restaurant great for couples. The food was well presented and delicious. Thanks for a lovely dinner.

Menlo Park Hotel

20/05/2026: I have organised a trip with my family in total 16 people to Galway and I have found the Menlo Park. I can absolutely recommend this hotel. The location is great, it is a 30 min Walk to the city centre and there is Public transport just in front of the building. The rooms are big and very comfortable, we all slept extremely well. The absolutely highlight is the breakfast, we could have spent hours there, everything is so delicious and the team is great - they make a fantastic service. We were even a bit of melancholic when we left today. It was a super experience and next time for sure we will choose the Menlo Park.
15/05/2026: The most comfortable room I've ever slept in! Very clean and super friendly. Since we were out all day, the construction work on the hotel exterior didn't bother me at all. There are only two floors, a large elevator, a restaurant, a bistro, a 24-hour reception, and incredibly friendly staff!

Garavan's

02/06/2026: Absolutely loved the Irish Coffee. Had my first coffee yesterday, tried one down the street for dinner with disappointment. Had to come back again before I leave town tommy because it was soooo good.
29/05/2026: Had a great time at Garavan’s. We grabbed seats at the bar and ended up having exactly the kind of experience you hope for in an Irish pub. Harry and Dave were awesome, gave us some great whiskey recommendations, and were fun to chat with. The whiskey selection is incredible. Whether you know a lot about whiskey or are just looking to try something new, they’ll point you in the right direction. We also noticed they were constantly making Irish coffees, which looked fantastic. Between the great conversation, friendly staff, and amazing whiskey selection, this was one of our favorite stops in Galway. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in town.
