It surprises me that this place is not more popular. The food is incredible and the woman who served us was wonderful. Small and intimate, great for a date night or a small group of friends. Highly recommend.

Fantastic food and the Portuguese wine is perfect

The food is delicious, but there is little staff, so it takes a very long time.

Came here to get a rest from traditional Irish food and while the food was fabulous, it was hard to overlook the service and excruciatingly long wait time. We ordered house red, bread for the table, and the pork and beef dishes. Wine was quick to the table. The bread took about 50 minutes to come to the table and our meals were 75-80 minutes from when we sat. We had to ask for water twice and it didn’t come until we had been there an hour. There are only 8 tables inside; so this felt long. I will say they did preface the longer wait times in the menu because everything is cooked to order, just FYI. I believe the only two employees are the owners. It was delicious but not sure I’d come back after the experience itself.

My experience at Alma was incredible, it was easily one of the best meals I had during my 2 week trip to Ireland. My visit coincided with a food and wine pairing event, which made it even more special. The owners are super hosts and do everything to make all guests feel welcome! The food reminded me of everything my Portuguese grandparents used to cook, very authentic. Obrigada, Márcia e João pela hospitalidade! :)

That was my second time down in Galway second in the Alma restaurant great food i highly recomend it....

Quaint small restaurant off the busy paths of Galway, but still very convenient to the city center. Portuguese dishes excellently prepared and plated. Delicious food served by a warm and welcoming staff.
