No reservation and a solo diner on a Saturday night in Limerick is a sad predicament. Two restaurants declined my request for a table for one.
Not so in House. I was greeted and shown to an acceptable, if not fabulous table, but understandable as the place was buzzing. I was looked after by a very busy, yet efficient, waiter. A gin and tonic, Battered Hake and Chips..
The food was fast, perfectly acceptable. Not the biggest portion of fish I've ever seen and Irish prices still shock me (€20 for the hake)
But eveb by Irish prices this was actually good value.
The whole experience was made far better by a young man, Damien, maybe a maitre d' .. who was concerned my table was not as good a location as I could have received. Rather than just walk past, he stopped and checked if everything was OK. He didn't just stop at my table.. but worked the room. I eat out a lot and this guy was head and shoulders above many supervisors I've seen. The young blond lady, who brought my gin, was also effective and polite..
So many times, when a bar gets busy, solo diners get forgotten as our bills and upselling potential is low gain. Not so in House. Damien and his team made my experience excellent.
The chef might want to keep me thin... but the FOH team were fantastic under pressure. Highly recommend. I'll be back.

Nice-looking place, good atmosphere. But the food was disappointing, very average. I would go back for a drink but not for the food.

Felt so old !!!!! And I'm only 30 . Only teens go here. Left immediately after one drink. Nice staff but we were so old and out of place!

Cozy, pleasant place to spend time with friends and family. Excellent desserts and wine. We were there when the boarding was full. Everything was correct and polite. The lobster sandwich was delicious. I didn’t like the duck salad because it was very very sweet

I found this place on the Happy Cow App.
This place is right on the water and is gorgeous on the inside. The restaurant is modern and high end with a large bar, tea area, garden dining room, and plenty of room for all sizes of groups.
At this time of night (8:45pm) and this time of year (autumn - October) I didn't need a reservation and I was seated quickly.
I had a late dinner here and I was so happy they had clearly marked vegan options. Some items had Vegan in the name and others had the VG symbol. The legend at the bottom of the menu said VG = vegan.
I had the Vietnamese Spring Rolls to start and I had the vegan loaded salad for my main course.
The spring rolls were large and had a really yummy dipping sauce. The salad that comes with the rolls was not my favorite because it had that slimy seaweed that to me is a texture and flavor nightmare. It is slimy, chewy, and tastes heavily of fish. I always find that unpleasant so I didn't finish the little side salad.
The Vegans Loaded salad was perfect all around. The falafel balls were perfect. They are lightly fried and are moist and didn't feel overly heavy. The hummus was really creamy and I enjoyed the flavor quite a bit. The pita bread was soft and easy to tear for dipping in the hummus. There were also roasted carrots in the salad that were perfectly flavored and sweet. I highly recommend getting this salad.
Sometimes it feels like salad is the cop out for restaurants for vegan food. But this salad is done right. It isn't iceberg lettuce and some horrible dressing. It actually felt like a meal and I felt good having so many fresh vegetables to eat. Sometimes I get really tired of vegan burgers so it was nice to have a hearty option that tasted really good.
I also had a mocktail (non alcoholic cocktail) called Amor that was lovely. It was floral and very clean tasting. I would get that again.
For dessert I had a peppermint tea which was lovely and strong.
I would come here again and try their vegan breakfast in the future.
Pros: Easily marked vegan options, Amazing vegan salad, Large portions
Cons: Seaweed in the side salad
