Lovely cafe near the front at Ruthmallan. Relaxed, with delicious tea and homemade cakes. Recommended.

An Stad is a nice alternative spot in Rathmullan. It is a vegetarian only cafe, with a small menu of decent quality dishes. However, the menu has changed over the years, and I personally don’t think for the best. It’s lacking dishes that were great in the past, namely the omelette. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. An update to the menu would be exciting and more appealing.

We entered this pretty café by chance during our road trip, and we met Sandra and her husband. The homemade pastries are delicious. Good luck and maybe see you next year

We called in for coffee and were tempted by scones fresh from the oven that didn't disappoint. The very friendly owner then told us about the music on Friday nights so we called in again and were entertained by Arn, who we loved. Sandra also has a super voice, singing unaccompanied. Sadly the open mic didn't live up to expectations so we left.

21/04/2025: Absolutely delicious food!! So many tasty breakfast / brunch options. Lots of baked goods too. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and really go the extra mile to make the whole experience better. My only criticism is that they mainly stock Coca-Cola products. Would be nice to see other options as most people are boycotting this company. They do have Mc Daid's football special though so it's an overall win in every category. I highly recommend the garlic fries, made with chunks of fresh garlic.
