22/09/2024: This is a great place, book early if you want a table or go for the bar for a dinner as a ‘walk in’ but be early. With that out of the way, food is gorgeous, it’s not a steak place, it’s all very elegant and tasty. Wines and cocktails are available massive wine list and even the more exclusive wines are sold by the glass. Ambience is great service even better ( we spend 4 hrs, struck up a conversation with other diners) it’s that kinda place..

18/09/2024: Great food in an intimate, hip setting!

20/09/2024: Average, style over substance. The tartlet needed more salt. The woodpigeon was disappointing. I had only ever had it pink not as part of an apricot and walnut ballotine. It was overcooked? dry and didn't taste nice. The beef fillet was perfectly cooked but there wasn't enough beef cheek. The liquorice and rhubarb was delicious but I did think it would have been better if the rhubarb had been cooked a little more and was more tender. Initially the service was rushed.

15/09/2024: Very expensive but worth it if you have the money. Woodpigeon as a starter was very rich in flavour and tastefully decorated. The rib eye beef was melt in the mouth and had a delicious gravy along with a big Yorkshire pudding. The chocolate souffle was also amazing, really warm and had caramel inside of it. Also they somehow made popcorn flavoured ice cream. Would recommend.

19/08/2024: Sunday carvery 18.Aug 2024 Went into the Jockeys at about 12.30 place was spotless staff very welcoming l ordered the prime roast beef with all the trimmings wife had Chicken curry with rice and also came with lovely side of chips.Have to say best potatoes l have had in a long time and the cabbage was cooked to perfection all in all we had a lovely lunch which was served promptly and no fuss.We will be back.

07/09/2024: An honest review. Where to start... My Guinness was poured in a glass that wasn't cleaned well. My starter was okay. But hard to mess up a tomato and basil soup. My medium rare rack of lamb was well done, the heft of the knife, I was given to cut it with, was loose. It was uncomfortably hot inside. My fiance took the set 3 course menu and wasn't asked about what dessert she wanted. During the main course I let the staff know about this, and ordered the homemade brownie. The brownie arrived a good 30 minutes after she was done with the main course, the rest of the table had practically finished eating dessert, we were at the point of just forgetting about it and asking for the bill. The brownie was nice but the whipped cream was watery. Also, She asked for fries on the side, and never got these. she also got the wrong sauce with her steak. Respectfully, I won't be coming back here.

09/10/2024: What a great cafe! We called in by chance and both ordered the small fish and chips. Well. if that is small, I am on a different planet! There were two pieces of fish and a mountain of chips. My husband was glad he'd ordered the small one, too, as he ended up with one of my pieces of fish. It was such good value for the price, and the staff were lovely. Service was efficient, and we had two check backs to make sure everything was OK. There were lots of locals in there, which is always a good sign, and if I lived locally I'd eat there several times a week!

25/09/2024: We were in Donegal for a week and had a couple of breakfasts and lunches here. Before I get to the food I would like to congratulate the staff. We were made to feel very welcome in this establishment, the staff without exception were extremely friendly, chatty and it was a pleasure to be there. The food was plentiful, hot, fresh and served with a smile, I cannot fault this place, down to earth food cooked very well. 10/10. Thanks.

05/10/2024: Stayed here two nights. Absolutely lovely place in such a quaint little village. Brilliant cliffside walk nearby. Fantastic breakfast from very kind staff. We had a lovely conversation after breakfast with the landlord where he told us a bit about the village and its history. Cannot recommend the B&B enough to anyone in the area.

26/09/2024: Food excellent. Wine tasting and dinner was superb. Location very good and ambiance was very friendly. Only issue was small size of rooms but as a building with preservation order scope is limited and the best use was made of what was there. The dining room is a real work of art.

28/09/2024: Was amazing from start to finish, food was top shelf, mouth watering , delicious.. only down fall was I orderd a desert trio was small pieces of cakes, don’t think they were home made.. other deserts looked amazing tho

15/09/2024: A wonderful lunch celebrating Moms birthday! This restaurant is one of the few remaining that truly understand what diners want in a restaurant. Beautifully prepared food, full of flavour and quality. Excellent hosts that balance a warm welcome with a non intrusive attentiveness polished with professionalism. Ambiance and decor all well designed to add to a memorable experience. Look forward to returning, thank you guys for making it special!
