Torc Longford is definitely a must-visit for chocolate lovers,their chocolate treats are irresistible. But donât skip the lunch menu! The chicken and mushroom pie, is a winner, packed with filling, rich, and creamy.
One tiny downside: the seats are closely packed. Youâll enjoy your meal⊠until someone at the next table starts sharing their entire life story. Yep, youâll know everything about them before you leave (even if youâd rather not đ).
Bottom line: Great food, amazing chocolate, and a cozy (if slightly snug) atmosphere. Bring a chocolate-loving friend and enjoy the pie!

18/06/2026: We popped into MacsShack at that brunch awkward time where we couldn't deicde between breakkie & lunch! We each had a little of both and have left perfectly full & very satisfied after some very tasty food.
We shared between two, a breakkie omelette, added some homemade potato cakes, hm brown bread was delicious, with also a chicken caesar salad, side of fries and 2 grand cups of tea! It set us up for the rest of day.
Very friendly staff & nothing a hassle. Thanks a mill guys âšïž

13/03/2026: I cycled a hundred miles the day I visited The Courtyard Café and was very impressed with the Chicken Caesar wrap and chips that was served, absolutely outstanding.
19/12/2025: I ordered a cake as a family present from The Courtyard Cafe..
It was ready and given on payment with no fuss. The staff were nice and good and I'm writing particularly because the cake was first class.. the price was really good for the top job that was done. I'm going there in future.
Needless to say the Birthday cake was gone into the bellies in no time. People commented on how good the cake looked and it was tasty regards, Anthony.

01/06/2026: I donât usually leave bad reviews but I felt I had to share my experience. I arrived around 9pm and asked if there were any rooms available. The receptionist told me to wait, which was fine, but then he seemed to completely ignore me while he got on with other things. Every time I tried to ask a question, I was brushed off or ignored. In the end, I was left standing there for about 20 minutes before he finally told me they had a room available.
I had no issue with having to provide a credit card for security purposes, even though I had already paid cash. My problem was with the attitude and lack of customer service. It was frustrating and made me feel like I was an inconvenience rather than a paying guest.
The room itself was quite old and tired-looking. There was a very stale smell when I walked in and the curtains were broken, which didnât give a great impression. There was also loud music coming from the function room that continued late into the night. While it wasnât ideal, it honestly wasnât the worst part of the stay.
For âŹ120, I wasnât expecting luxury, but I did expect a higher standard of customer service.
Overall, itâs a budget hotel thatâs seen better days, but the poor service was by far the biggest issue. A warm welcome and basic courtesy go a long wa, and unfortunately that was completely lacking during my stay. I wouldnât stay here again.

Mi amigo y yo fuimos ayer a comer tarde.
Decidimos comprar la ensalada de queso higo y cabra y las alitas de pollo grandes - que pedimos simple con barbacoa y salsa picante en el lado. La comida llegĂł, y la ensalada era preciosa. estĂĄbamos disfrutando de las alitas, pero cuando llegamos a las Ășltimas cuatro, mi amigo eligiĂł una, y se comiĂł. No tenĂa piel y tenĂa marcas de mordeduras en el pequeño trozo de pollo que quedaba.
LlevĂ© el tazĂłn al mostrador y le expliquĂ© en voz baja lo que pasĂł. Tanto la camarera como el camarero que nos sirviĂł se disculparon. Se llevĂł el tazĂłn a la cocina, y volvĂ a la mesa. Nadie volviĂł a hablar de ello, asĂ que despuĂ©s de unos 10 minutos, nos levantamos para irnos. Fuimos al mostrador a pagar, y el camarero dijo que nos darĂa un descuento por las alas! Dije 'no gracias, no pagaremos las alas'. Dijo que el chef le dijo que esto no es posible que suceda ya que cada tazĂłn es revisado. Tuvimos un momento acalorado en el que le preguntĂ© si estaba insinuando que habĂamos mordido el ala y luego la sacamos para que pudiĂ©ramos obtenerla gratis. Hecssid no nos lo comiĂł y siguiĂł repitiendo el chef dijo que no era posible. PreguntĂ© por un gerente y me dijo que no habĂa ningĂșn gerente en el lugar, asĂ que preguntĂ© por el chef y dije que tan pronto como saliera, subirĂa la foto de dichas alas y le dirĂa a la mayor cantidad de personas posible sobre cĂłmo se comportaban. Tan pronto como dije esto, un "gerente" apareciĂł en la caja, se disculpĂł por todo y quitĂł el cargo de las alas de la factura.
Qué horrible experiencia. Ya era bastante malo que se hubieran comido el ala, pero que nos acusaran de hacerlo nosotros mismos era un insulto, ya que somos clientes bastante habituales de ellos.

13/05/2026: my boyfriend went in and ordered a wrap with CAJUN CHICKEN and taco sauce and cheese we came home and their was no chicken in the wrap at all just taco sauce and cheese need to get employees that can open their ears and charged him âŹ18.65 for mush in a wrap

14/02/2025: Coldest burger and chips weâve ever had anywhere. Ordered there and then and took home which is a 3 minute drive away. Stone cold food. Very disappointing
12/02/2025: Asked for a veggie burger in there and the savage behind the counter threw a bit of lettuce between 2 bun's with red sauce on it and charged me âŹ5 for it
