28/05/2026: Wonderful place to enjoy an evening meal. Our waitress Emily gave us such good service and even asked the chef what kind of sauce we had with our duck. She offered to order us a bottle but we did not have the time. So instead she poured some sauce on a waterbottle and gave to us free of charge. Would not even accept a tip for this wonderful gesture. "This is how we do it up here" she said. The food was very good and you sertanly get your money worth. Would absolutely recommend all of my friends and family to go here.

15/07/2026: Seven of us had dinner and drinks in the Brock Inn yesterday evening. Everyone agreed dinner was exceptional from starters to dessert. Servers very friendly and professional. Toilets spotless. Never disappoints. Thank you Brock Inn staff.

22/06/2026: I tried to play golf with my GF, having booked 2 lessons slots and after showing up at the golf shop, we were told that we must be at the wrong place and the employee sent us to another golf club on the other side of Portmarnock. There, we were told that there is no way we're at the right place and were sent back to the golf shop. The employee was very unprofessional and demeaning, looking at us like we were crazy to think that we could play golf when we had our bookings confirmed. We tried to make the most of a bad situation, but the employee was very unaccommodating and acting like he was better than anyone else. We only wanted to play golf at a place where we had our time slots booked and confirmed. The employee did not feel bad for them having such a deceitful and scammy golf booking system. I felt bad after my interaction with the employee, that we wasted our time and money going there, and how our date was ruined because of it.

19/05/2026: A good reminder that the rankings of hotels are based on facilities available, not actual quality or service. Both (both!!) pram lifts were out of order making navigating the hotel with a pram very difficult. Staff did not help with luggage or baby pram. There is no dedicated greeter for breakfast so everybody who comes down just waits aimlessly until somebody notices them Every so often you'll notice chipped paint, worn carpet, stained cutlery or other signs of low maintenance. (€260 per night by the way). The shower is a cramped prefabricated plastic installation. Portmarnock hotel is one that survives on the reputation of the golf course, but outside of that legacy there is much better value and better luxury guest experiences you can get for your money in Ireland, and in Dublin.

05/07/2026: Many years ago this used to be a pleasant pub with decent food but it's been a while since I've enjoyed an outing here. Food is mediocre at best. The young staff are pleasant but the atmosphere is uncomfortable with music blasting from tinny speakers making it impossible to carry on a conversation without raised voices. Unfortunately that has become normal practice in Dublin restaurants and pubs. It means we eat and leave instead of whiling away a pleasant evening with a few drinks. And then pubs wonder why we prefer to socialize at home with a takeaway!

25/06/2026: I usually try to order as many courses as possible when going to a restaurant for the first time. We ordered: seafood chowder - tasty, but a bit too salty for my taste; housemade chicken liver pâté - not the worst I’ve had, but not the best either. I could easily live without it; hot wings - incredibly sour! Not sure why they added vinegar to them (it might have been lemon juice, but it really tasted like strong vinegar); beef nachos - very tasty, but we didn’t get to finish them and they got soggy by the time we got home with them. I recommend them if you’re into Tex-Mex food; breaded mushrooms - we absolutely loved the mushrooms. We felt sorry we only had 6! They were very crispy and paired perfectly with the sauce, just lacking salt, but that can be easily fixed; chicken strips with fries - loved both the chicken (very crispy on the outside and tender on the inside) and the fries. The fries needed some salt as they don’t come seasoned; sirloin steak - steak is always tasty, but this one had lots of tendons and we kept having to remove them from our mouths (not very pleasant to do in a restaurant, but they didn’t provide any toothpicks); the Buffalo chicken burger - my friend really enjoyed it; and the linguini prawns - such a disappointment! Again, very sour, and I’m not sure why the cook added vinegar. As we couldn’t finish everything, I took the linguini prawns home and added some prawns and mussels, sweet curry, garlic, and nacho cheese cream, and they turned out quite nicely. I ordered lemonade and received some sort of Sprite in a glass. I didn’t like it, but I wasn’t aware they weren’t serving homemade lemonade. My friends ordered a Guinness and a Sprite. The total bill was around €190, which doesn’t seem much considering all the food we ordered, but it’s quite expensive considering we actually enjoyed only half of it. We wanted to order dessert, but it was quite busy and we gave up, so no review for the dessert. I would say we’ll leave it for next time, but I wouldn’t go back. The staff are nice and seem quite knowledgeable. They are doing a great job, and the place is buzzing and quite pleasant, but we weren’t impressed with the food, which is the main reason we went there in the first place: to enjoy a good dinner. Thank you to both the chef and the staff; we had a pleasant evening overall. Taste is something very personal, and some people might completely disagree with my opinion, so you can give it a try yourself. I admit that my taste buds are a bit pretentious...

12/07/2026: Stopped in for a light lunch and tried two salads — the halloumi & hummus and the chicken salad — along with a lemonade, iced tea, and a dessert to finish. The presentation was genuinely lovely and the location itself is bright, comfortable, and welcoming. Quality-wise, though, the food didn’t fully live up to the visuals. Both salads were fine but lacked the flavour punch you’d expect at this price point, and the dessert felt more average than memorable. Still, the service was friendly, the atmosphere relaxed, and overall it was a pleasant visit. A solid spot for a casual meal, but with room to improve on taste to match the great presentation.

23/04/2026: Fabulous food. Really enjoyed it. Got the warm goats cheese salad and a portion of really nice chips. My friends got the special of the day, the vegetarian option- ravioli with garlic bread. Delicious! Waitress was really friendly, service was prompt.

10/05/2026: Vegan salad was good a little spice or some Tofu for protein would have elevated it. Sticky toffee sauce was delicious but the pudding had a burnt after taste which ruined a great dessert.

07/05/2026: It is a nice restaurant. The temperature is good, it's always warm. The food is fresh and the portions are nicely sized. It would be nice if one of the waitresses smiled more. Also, when eating burgers, it would be nice if they brought gloves. It would be cleaner and easier to consume.
