Rosato's

Moville
17/07/2026: Only tried here a few weeks ago and had the pizza every week since and think about it all the time lol. Chips were a bit on the hard side would prefer them softer, but only had them once so can't really judge. Staff are always so nice and friendly even when they are busy. My favourite spot atm
03/07/2026: Stopped here after walking the Moville Shore Path, a stunning 2.5 hour return walk from Moville to Greencastle (stops for pics and dog on beach included). Inside was packed and buzzing but we sat in a pod outside because we had a dog with us. The pizza was 😋 as was the very generously sized fish encased in the lightest, crispiest batter I have ever tasted! We ate here two nights in a row & will eat here again when we return soon to the stunning Inishowen Peninsula

Nancy’s Barn

Ballyliffin
17/07/2026: A cozy local eatery that makes great food at a reasonable price. Locally, they are world-famous 😁. We had the delicious clam holder. Definitely worth the detour.
09/07/2026: This is a must see in Ballyliffin! Their chowder is phenomenal, of course, but they’ve also done an amazing job of mixing local cuisine with flavors from around the world. The fish tacos are my absolute favorite right now, since it’s the perfect mix of fish and chips and a little taste of being home in the US. Not to mention their amazing wait staff who make sure that everyone who walks in the door is made to feel at home while they’re inside. They’ve also done a great job of honoring the legacy of the barn while bringing in modern conveniences.

Nancy's

Ardara
15/07/2026: We had a lovely time in this fascinating little bar/restaurant. We had the chowder which was very good. We also had the mackerel patty and hummus with tortillas very enjoyable. My wife had the sauvignon blanc which could have been colder. The Guinness was excellent and definitely one of the best points I enjoyed on our little road trip, so much so I had to have a second and it didn't disappoint. I highly recommend a visit to Nancy's and the town of Ardara.
13/07/2026: Cozy local pub, great atmosphere. Good food and friendly service. We were able to wait at the bar for a bit while we waited for a table. On Sundays, the kitchen closes a bit earlier, so be sure to be on time; it can get really busy, but it's worth it.

Steppers Bar & Restaurant

An clochán liath

30/06/2026: Somewhere between the Atlantic wind and the edge of civilized behavior sits Boyle’s Bar in Dungloe, a magnificent refuge for anyone wise enough to abandon the modern world. I stumbled through the door expecting little more than shelter from the weather and perhaps a respectable pint. Instead, I found myself trapped in one of those rare Irish pubs where time quietly packs its bags and disappears. The Guinness arrived with the confidence of an old heavyweight champion. No gimmicks. No theatrical nonsense. Just a perfectly poured pint wearing a thick creamy head that looked almost too beautiful to disturb. Almost. Every sip justified another, and before long I was conducting serious investigative journalism into whether perfection could, in fact, be served repeatedly from the same tap. The evidence became overwhelming. The billiard table stood in the corner like a sacred altar to friendly competition, inviting anyone foolish enough to believe they still possessed hand-eye coordination after two or three pints. Balls cracked across the felt while laughter bounced off the walls. Victories were celebrated with another Guinness. Defeats were cured with another Guinness. It was an elegantly simple economic system. The large-screen televisions carried the day’s World Cup sporting drama, but somehow never overwhelmed the room. They weren’t there to dominate the pub. They were there to give strangers something to cheer about together before immediately returning to the far more important business of solving the world’s problems over pints. This wasn’t one of those polished tourist traps where someone in a marketing office has carefully manufactured “authentic Irish atmosphere.” Boyle’s doesn’t have to pretend. The character has been built pint by pint, story by story, year after year. You can feel it in the conversations, hear it in the laughter, and see it in the easy rhythm of locals and visitors sharing the same space without anyone trying too hard. By the time I finally stepped back outside, the rain had stopped, my internal clock had completely surrendered, and I was left with only one logical conclusion. Boyle’s Bar is dangerous in the very best possible way. You arrive intending to have one pint and watch a few minutes of sport. Hours later you’re halfway through another flawless Guinness, arguing about football with people you met twenty minutes ago, considering a game of pool you’ll almost certainly lose, and wondering why every pub on earth can’t operate with this same effortless magic. If there is any justice left in this strange, beautiful world, Boyle’s Bar will continue pouring perfect Guinness long after the rest of civilization has disappeared under the weight of overpriced cocktails and self-important craft beer menus. Until then, I’ll gladly keep returning to the scene of the crime.

Carndonagh
27/06/2026: Food was beautiful, service was first class would definitely recommend
22/06/2026: I went there with friends during our stay in Northern Ireland. It's a family-run establishment, passed down through generations. The atmosphere is friendly, and the food is a cut above your average pub fare. The service is excellent and friendly. It deserves a sixth star! Don't miss this place if you're ever in the area!

Boathouse Restaurant

Killybegs
12/07/2026: Great food, but the day we went was a hot day. The restaurant was stiflingly hot and they seen to have a problem with insects. We all spent the whole night sweating and trying to fend off hoardes of hungry flies. Spoiled it for us. At the end we were glad to get outside for some cool air and to get away from the flies. Shame as it's such good food. Please invest in a fly zapper or something.
06/07/2026: The food is absolutely delicious!!
