Lemon Tree
Letterkenny
07/08/2026: This is an excellent restaurant. Despite a rather unpreposessing location (looks like it's next to a car park in a shopping centre), the food is of the highest quality, and the service very attentive. The amuses bouches are well executed, and the wine list well thought out (two New Zealand Sauvignons!). We had the scallops and the crab tartlet starters (both very good), and the monkfish & pork belly and hake mains. The monkfish was lovely, the pork belly a bit underwhelming (a la pulled pork) but the hake (not an easy fish to get right) was absolutely perfect.
Dessert (salted caramel tart, but more like a pave) was also sublime.
Way above expectations.
05/08/2026: Only word to describe this place is PERFECTION

Rosato's
Moville
17/07/2026: Only tried here a few weeks ago and had the pizza every week since and think about it all the time lol. Chips were a bit on the hard side would prefer them softer, but only had them once so can't really judge. Staff are always so nice and friendly even when they are busy. My favourite spot atm
03/07/2026: Stopped here after walking the Moville Shore Path, a stunning 2.5 hour return walk from Moville to Greencastle (stops for pics and dog on beach included). Inside was packed and buzzing but we sat in a pod outside because we had a dog with us. The pizza was 😋 as was the very generously sized fish encased in the lightest, crispiest batter I have ever tasted! We ate here two nights in a row & will eat here again when we return soon to the stunning Inishowen Peninsula

17/07/2026: Great food, big portions. If you are going you should book in advance. Be prepared to loose several hours checking out the pictures and awards on the walls.

Nancy's
Ardara
15/07/2026: We had a lovely time in this fascinating little bar/restaurant. We had the chowder which was very good. We also had the mackerel patty and hummus with tortillas very enjoyable. My wife had the sauvignon blanc which could have been colder. The Guinness was excellent and definitely one of the best points I enjoyed on our little road trip, so much so I had to have a second and it didn't disappoint. I highly recommend a visit to Nancy's and the town of Ardara.
13/07/2026: Cozy local pub, great atmosphere. Good food and friendly service. We were able to wait at the bar for a bit while we waited for a table. On Sundays, the kitchen closes a bit earlier, so be sure to be on time; it can get really busy, but it's worth it.

Nancy’s Barn
Ballyliffin
17/07/2026: A cozy local eatery that makes great food at a reasonable price. Locally, they are world-famous 😁. We had the delicious clam holder.
Definitely worth the detour.
09/07/2026: This is a must see in Ballyliffin! Their chowder is phenomenal, of course, but they’ve also done an amazing job of mixing local cuisine with flavors from around the world. The fish tacos are my absolute favorite right now, since it’s the perfect mix of fish and chips and a little taste of being home in the US. Not to mention their amazing wait staff who make sure that everyone who walks in the door is made to feel at home while they’re inside. They’ve also done a great job of honoring the legacy of the barn while bringing in modern conveniences.

Boathouse Restaurant
Killybegs
12/07/2026: Great food, but the day we went was a hot day. The restaurant was stiflingly hot and they seen to have a problem with insects. We all spent the whole night sweating and trying to fend off hoardes of hungry flies. Spoiled it for us. At the end we were glad to get outside for some cool air and to get away from the flies.
Shame as it's such good food.
Please invest in a fly zapper or something.
06/07/2026: The food is absolutely delicious!!

27/06/2026: We ate here on Thursday, great experience. Food was so fresh and tasty. The staff were excellent, friendly efficient and very patient. We cycled from Mizen head to Malin and this was one of our top 3 eating along the whole length of the country!!
09/06/2026: We had a fantastic meal in their comfortable restaurant. The menu is excellent and thete is something for everyone. the Chouda waz nice and soup of the day was spicy but excellent. pork belly took the fancy of 3 of us and they raved about it. i had short rib and it was so tender. the others had rissoto or chicken burger and we were all delighted with our choices. I cant remember the two names of the guys but thank you for your service and appreciated the entire experience. well worth a visit at an average of €30 per head including 2 drinks. would definetly eat there again

Kelly's Diner
Letterkenny
25/07/2026: Food was good, the part of our order that was correct! The toast was brought out looking like it was either cut by a blind person or oreo the robot. No one came to follow up to make sure we got everything we ordered our if we needed anything else, or our drink refilled.
The bathroom sinks are pretty cool and oreo the robot server.
When one of the male servers was clearing a table next to us, he turned to ask if everything was OK? I answered no, and he turned around and continued clearing the table.
The manager did finally come to apologize after being asked for him.
09/07/2026: It is a very nice restaurant, it is very clean and the vintage car theme is very nice. We ordered 3 fish and chips, then the robot came up to us, which is very high tech. The fish and chips were very good and it didn't take long for the robot to come. We would recommend this to anyone in the Donegal area, it is really worth the visit, we would definitely come back.

Highlands Hotel
Glenties
22/06/2026: Staff really friendly and really nice food
17/06/2026: This Hotel was absolutely outstanding, in a class of it's own. Seriously to die for. The rooms are beautiful set out. The restaurant with as the oak furniture was so tastefully decorated, it's own little coffee shop. The staff were a pleasure to be around. The Highlands Hotel just kept giving and giving. The food was outstanding, my favourite meal there was the mussels in a tomato and herb sauce. The bar manager Tuffer (Christopher) was superb add to to the organisation, a very knowledgeable chap who knows how to run a bar with ease. I would visit the Highlands in a heartbeat and will be going again soon, very soon. Glenties the town is a biscuit tin town. Idyllic with the most beautiful views that stop you in your tracks to take it all in. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
