A very cosy and delicious place in Ballybofey!
They always serve fresh, high-quality food — from hearty burgers to light salads.
I really enjoyed the warm goat cheese salad with nuts, and the large plate with meats, veggies and mixed salads — everything was well prepared and beautifully presented.
Friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. I’ll definitely come back!
21/06/2025: A great local restaurant with super staff and beautiful food. I had a breakfast bagel which was really nice and the coffee is very good. Slightly hidden off the main street, it is well worth visiting.

23/11/2024: The reason it got 4 stars is the premise was cold on arrival at 6pm ( it doesn’t open at 17:30 as stated on trip adviser )
I had the Chicken supreme and better half had the fish and chips. Have to say very tasty.
We were served by Anastasia who was very polite, moving us to a warmer position etc.
I recommend Nivana, but leave to a bit later if weather is cold

Nice bar area inside , Bar built from a old boat and roof timbers like a upturned keel of a ship ,Real fire nice and cosy
Pizza only and then only weekends
Some reviews say it’s dog friendly but bar staff said dogs not allowed in bar only in outside area

16/09/2025: I have dined here on a few occasions and I have found the staff the be very helpful and courteous. The restaurant itself has a lovely, warm and inviting atmosphere which is topped off with the best food in donegal that I have tried to date. It is not overly expensive and you get a good portion. Overall I will continue to dine here because it sets a very high standard, one some of the more expensive places close could learn from.
14/09/2025: We had a great meal in this restaurant. Service as superb, and attention to detail.
Beautiful setting, sitting at the window was a added bonus.

27/07/2025: Absolute hidden gem based within a bowling ally .We were very on the fence about eating here and only because we thought it might be just the usual burgers and chips joint however we were very wrong ,absolutely lovely food great service and you wouldn't even know you were in a bowling ally .Ate here twice while staying in the Clanree Hotel.

19/09/2025: We rocked up in Killybegs and thought Fish and Chips! Melly's didn't disappoint. A warm welcome, comfortable and clean tables. We were acknowledged immediately and shown to a table. Drinks were with us in under 5 minutes and some exquisite haddock and chips ( one breaded and one battered) arrived in under 10 minutes.
Great service, great food and good value. Thanks Melly's.
