14/07/2025: We were filming a wedding here on Saturday. Everything was set for a perfect day when a series of unexpected power cuts happened. One of them lasted over two hours. This was a first for us in all our years of filming weddings. What stood out immediately was how the staff handled the situation. Their calm presence, clear communication, and level of professionalism were incredible. Kevin, Emer and Rachel were consistently reassuring and organised, keeping everyone informed throughout. The younger staff were equally impressive. They remained composed, focused and completely reliable under pressure. The atmosphere stayed positive because of how well the team led from the front. No panic. No confusion. Only action, support and solutions. We have worked in many venues and the way this team responded truly set them apart. They did not let the situation define the day. Their standard of care and commitment to guests did. Seriously Can’t wait to return... great people, great location!

24/04/2025: Perhaps we should have sticked to the cakes which looked delicious, but it was lunch so we had soup which was a joke. It was meant to be vegetable. It was very watery and tasted like stock cubes. The wrap and sandwich were ok but too expensive.

01/06/2025: Called in for dinner one evening and opted for the early bird which consists of two courses for €26. When I went to the cash desk which was manned by the owner I asked for my bill and unfortunately I trusted him and did not check the amount. I said to add €2 for a tip. He took my debit card and put it into the card machine which asked if I wanted to give 10% tip and as there was no other option I pressed yes. The final cost was €33. I was charged individually for the two courses I received. The floor staff were friendly and pleasant but the same could not be said about the owner.

29/05/2025: Beautiful food would recommend this restaurant to all who visit Letterkenny. The restaurant has tables upstairs,but these tables were closed off the evening we visited.

18/07/2025: Just don't bother. If you're thinking about it and you're on the fence and think well it might have improved, it could by ok, it hasn't and it likely won't be! We've been here a number of times as a family with grandparents and young kids, as a larger family group and with friends. It's local, it's generally fine in terms of quality and service, prices are fine and the wine list is pretty good. On, as a rough estimate, 90% of those occasions there has been some error. Food not cooked properly, sides forgotten, incorrect bill etc - it's got a fawlty towers vibe. However each of those things were never significant enough to ruin the experience. Unfortunate yes but not beyond redemption. On our last visit it was simply irredeemable from start to finish. We went for an early dinner at 5.30pm. We were the only table in the restaurant ordering at that time (on a Friday in the Summer which is rather emblematic if you think about it). There were 3 adults eating and two children. Catch of the day was described as cod and ordered. Two steaks, one ribeye and one sirloin - both ordered medium rare. So far, so competent! The catch of the day was taken to the table were it was revealed to be salmon. It was delivered alongside the ribeye which was claimed. The third meal was then delivered and also described as the ribeye. When we explained there should be one ribeye and one sirloin a look of utter confusion crept across multiple servers faces. That look remained in situ for the rest of the evening. We also highlighted the salmon v cod situation and were told they could probably find a cod in the kitchen and it would take around 20 minutes to cook. Offer declined, obviously. On the upside, the salmon was delicious! The steaks, after no firm confirmation as to which was which and only after we did some critical analysis of that ourselves, were not fine. Both were between well done and verryyy well done. Nobody came to check how the food was so I had to go and find someone to alert them to the steaks being utterly awful. Beyond them being overcooked, the quality of the meat was terrible and questionable whether one of them was even a ribeye (possible a hanger maybe a skirt steak - unlikely the kitchen would have known the difference between the cuts in any event tbh). Being there for an early dinner with kids, we didn't have the luxury to wait around for new plates. We asked for them to be cleared and to speak to a manager / the chef. Not surprisingly, there is no restaurant manager! We were told the staff had phoned the hotel manager who is approx 150m away but she was not willing to come down and speak to us. Chef also not in a chatty mood. By now there is perhaps two other tables who both have their food. We were offered complimentary deserts. We explained we could not take that offer up in good faith because the whole thing had been such a disappointing experience and that we wouldn't return. We paid our bill only to realise at home later they had over charged us for a side of skinny fires that nobody had ordered! If it wasn't so disheartening to part with €165 for a dinner that I wouldn't feed to a dog then it would have been laughable. One of the servers told us we should have refused to pay. As well meaning as that is, we aren't going out for dinner to have confrontations with people over whether a bill should be paid. It's not our MO and that offer should have been extended, to some degree, to reflect the kitchen's errors, rather than us demanding it. So in conclusion, I know the options in the area are limited but quite simply A.N.Y.W.H.E.R.E. E.L.S.E. will be an improvement.

16/06/2025: Beautiful location, lovely restaurant. Staff were really attentive. Manager was great, she really looked after everyone. A small annoyance was arents allowing their kids to run around, especially since they kept opening outside doors & leaving them open.

07/07/2025: Arrived at 12 to eat at front bar, officially food didn’t start until 1. They opened early for us, which was great as the kids were starving. Great service, food and staff.

22/06/2025: Awful experience. Deceived us with an overpriced fake menu. Attempted to scam us with a fake bill of €150. Terrible portions. Nothing is exaggerated or false about this review. Zero stars if I as able. We had a group of 8 and we were handed a menu with extortion pricing that was priced higher than their menu shown on the website. One person from our group paid around 45 euros for a steak and soft drink meanwhile, their website shows the steak is only €24.95. We then had 2 unexpected guests on the way which we notified the staff of, so we were moved to another table. After we all paid individually, I was told there was still €150 left on the bill which was shocking. I had to call all my friends back in and show them the remaining total printed on a receipt given by one of the staff which included cheesecakes, pints, turkey and ham dinners and more. I told them we ordered none of this. However, the waitress lied claiming she remembers bringing us cheesecakes meanwhile the rest of the staff and manager were so confident we had ordered everything they said we had ordered and lied that we still owed €150. I was stunned by what they were trying to do. It was obvious we weren’t from the area as we were up from Dublin for the rally. So I guess the very deceptive manager advised his staff to absolutely rip us off as much as possible. The prices on the menu they gave us were insane compared to the prices listed on their website, at least a 50% increase. Around 8 euros for 5 of the smallest chicken wings I had ever seen without exaggerating. More bone on the chicken wings than meat. I have no idea how they have managed to gather such a good review rating after our experience there. We’re up every year for the rally and will definitely never return here. I’m happy to let every car enthusiast I know who go to Donegal ever year to not step near this place.

21/07/2025: Great spot really enjoyed it the chalets were very clean and well kept, the kids loved the place , amusements could be doing with a upgrade, great spot to explore donegal. 😀 highly recommended 👌

19/05/2025: A fantastic place for some comfortable relaxation with family or friends. Restaurant has a great menu, coffee dock has similar but catering for kids more. Highly recommended accommodation

14/07/2025: We stopped as a recommendation for breakfast. It was a very busy Sunday morning. The staff were friendly, efficient, and hardworking. The breakfast was delicious. I recommend the Eggs Florentine.

16/06/2025: I went here this morning with my daughter for breakfast. The waiter who greeted us was very rude. He seated us at a corner table and then completely ignored us throughout our visit. After waiting 20 minutes with no one taking our order, we decided to leave. The same waiter was at the door when we were leaving and didn’t acknowledge us at all.
