24/04/2025: Good selection of food, from light bites, to main dishes and a decent kids menu. Also a really nice ice cream station with a great variety of flavours and toppings. Very friendly and helpful staff.

22/05/2025: Absolutely awful experience!! Food is VILE and that’s not an exaggeration, arrived around 8 pm Friday night asked the waitress ( red haired girl) are you still doing food? To we got a cranky reply yes unfortunately we are all tired here !! .. it was an awkward atmosphere from there, food that night was very bland and not fresh. We passed again on the Sunday and decided we would give it a second chance hoping the first time was just a once off.. kids pancakes are rubber packaged pancakes from SuperValu..fry up is gross I couldn’t eat past one sausage . beef was served with a random sharp lump of bone and some chicken hanging on the side which when I called the waiter over to say there is a bone here.. she just took it and didn’t even apologise,, staff extremely unfriendly both days not one bit interested not a nice atmosphere at all I have no idea how this place is kept going.. sloppy service and food

24/04/2025: Perhaps we should have sticked to the cakes which looked delicious, but it was lunch so we had soup which was a joke. It was meant to be vegetable. It was very watery and tasted like stock cubes. The wrap and sandwich were ok but too expensive.

23/05/2025: Hadn't booked but was passing by last Sunday and dropped in for bar food. The menu was delightful - lots of choices - coeliac friendly. I had the fish & chips - was so tasty! Husband said the steak was one of the best he's had! Will look forward to returning soon.

21/05/2025: Ate in the restaurant last Saturday. Hadn't been since last Summer. Ate from the A la Carte Menu - great choices, fabulous food & presented beautifully. Service was great. Won't leave it as long until we return.

18/05/2025: My partner and I had dinner here over the weekend during our stay at the hotel for my 50th birthday celebrations. We were shown to our table which was comfortable with plenty space. The restaurant appeared absolutely spotless, welcoming and cosy. Immediately we were asked if would like too order drinks, which we did, these were brought to the table soon after ordering whilst we looked at the food menu. The food choices we made were absolutely outstanding, I can’t praise the standard of the food enough. We stayed on after dinner for more drinks and for the entertainment which was excellent as well. The atmosphere was really nice and friendly. The staff, when we ordered more drinks brought them too our table which was helpful for me personally as I am on crutches! My partner had the Guinness which he said was amazing and I had a few Strawberry Daiquiri’s which were the best I have ever had! The young girl’s serving did not stop the full night! They were friendly, efficient, professional and very competent. I would definitely recommend this restaurant too other’s and I would definitely return some time in the future. (Sorry I forgot to take a picture of our main meals which were absolutely delicious)!

05/05/2025: The hotel itself is lovely,ALL the staff were very very nice,room was spotless and comfortable....but the bedding needs to reflect the season and climate outside..we had a very hot heavy winter duvet,plus the pillow protectors were of a towelling material.we ate in the restaurant,the food and service were excellent,the background rave music was not,really not suitable for someone that cannot deal with alot of noise. Breakfast..most of the staff were very attentive,the selection was good but the 'hot' food choice was not hot...probably would come back again but have Breakfast out.

27/04/2025: If you like your restaurants for the ambiance, this place has lovely service and a charming (if a bit dated) vibe. If you like restaurants for the food, this place is not for you. The starters were disgusting and the mains were fine. I got prawn cocktail and it was defrosted prawn with some sauce slapped on to make this wet goo. My husband got baked camembert and deep fried with the rind so all you could taste was the rind. It was unpalatable. For mains, I got hake (thinking seafood would be class because Bundoran is by the sea). Again, it had crushed frozen prawn on top for what I'm guessing is for texture because it wasn't for taste. The sauce and the hake were average. My husband got "carbonara" but it's just creamy veggie pasta. He said it was okay, but he was getting tired of it midway. I was really looking forward to coming here with my husband on a very rare date night and was severely disappointed. If it wasn't for the buzz of being able to have a night out, I would give this a one star in a heartbeat.

22/02/2025: The best meal I have had out in Bundoran in a very long time, the monkfish was so delicious. Definitely will be back again soon

23/01/2025: Stayed in a suite with beautiful views over the Foyle and woke up to spectacular sunrises. The hotel itself is very quiet and relaxing. Staff very efficient and friendly. Food excellent - unfortunately didn’t have time to visit the spa. Will definitely be back. Beautiful beds very comfortable

22/02/2025: We stayed for 3 nights on a b and b and 1 evening meal package. Fantastic value and beautiful location. The hotel staff were friendly and the food was excellent and enjoyable. We ate dinner in the hotel each night and was freshly cooked as was the breakfast. The only minor thing was that the mattress was a bit hard but apart from that it was one of the best hotels we have stayed in. I would recommend Óstan Loch Altan to everyone. Many thanks.

31/05/2024: Good selection on the menu and nice size portions. Food was amazing and not a long wait. Cosy atmosphere with the open fire on, I wasn't able to manage a pudding but from looking at others they looked lovely too. Highly recommend 😀

11/05/2025: Good services for motorhomes and caravans. WiFi is very good. Safes can be rented. But showers are not enough for the size of the place☝🏻! What's also really annoying - especially when you're tired and want to sleep - the rest times are not adhered to, not even close 😩🥱🙈. Anyone who sleeps well or has children is really in good hands here!

03/04/2025: Slow service . Orders mixed up , staff not very friendly . Limited menu and set up to get food and to pay not user friendly . Have been here a few times in recent years due to work nearby and every single time the staff just ruin this place . Getting food or perhaps coffee and a cake is a nitemare and takes forever . Limited option in a town like that so I swear I’ll never go back yet -after a few months I do . They know this . They know their business is getting people in because of location as opposed to wonderful staff. It just ruins it because - once the food does eventually arrive it’s usually decent enough if not a tad pretentious and overpriced for a farming community .

29/11/2024: Went for the mini breakfast there today.Ordered it and was asked if it was tea or coffee and I said coffee.As I had an hour to kill I asked for a "topup" on my coffee.No problem so far.Nice breakfast.Went to pay and here is what happened.I was not only charged for the coffee which comes the breakfast but the topup as well! 16 euro for a mini breakfast..now come on. This is a nice premises in a great location owned by a family well known and liked by me.Therefore I am very suprised at this and wont be going there again nor will anyone I get talking to. Not good enough.No charity box available to put this additional 6 euro in as I offered.No sign of a manager.

01/01/2025: Nice wee cafe with plenty of choice, also glutenfree (GF) options available. I had a tasty GF breakfast fry, which had all the usual ingredients - I was pleased they had actual GF replacements, instead of just taking ingredients off the plate. My da had a great plate of (regular) fish and chips, too. Lovely place for a quick bite to eat!
