17/03/2025: We booked a table at the bar area for an evening meal on a Sunday. The interior was beautiful, with a crackling fire and the dtaff were friendly and helping. We were disappointed that our first choices for food were no longer available so we think we missed out on the food front but perhaps understandable given it was sunday evening. We also ordered 2 cocktails (mojito and french martini) that were not really up to any minimum standards. I really think the manager should look into that! Overall mixed experience unfortunately
03/03/2025: Bitterly disappointed at the quality of Sunday lunch. Lack of vegetables included and dinner was warm at best.
Vast difference in the standard of previous visits.

24/03/2025: Really beautiful area only a short drive from letterkenny town centre.
The grounds are beautiful to the house which you need to book
The resteraunt was lovely for lunch then dinner that night ,with great attentivestsff and fresh food. I had the ribeye and it was the best steak i have had in a long time.
They were very good at making your cocktail to suit if you did not want it too over powering.
Great little circular booths for children and lots of home made cookies.
24/02/2025: Had a beautiful meal at the church, my friend is a vegetarian and really enjoyed the food, the staff were fantastic couldn't do enough.
The only complaint was the large imposing TV screens that dominate the walls. My friend found it quite distracting. The restaurant is warm and cosy with a beautiful fire. Just a shame about the screens if you happen to be seated in the line of vision.

23/01/2025: Stayed in a suite with beautiful views over the Foyle and woke up to spectacular sunrises. The hotel itself is very quiet and relaxing. Staff very efficient and friendly. Food excellent - unfortunately didn’t have time to visit the spa. Will definitely be back. Beautiful beds very comfortable

29/11/2024: Went for the mini breakfast there today.Ordered it and was asked if it was tea or coffee and I said coffee.As I had an hour to kill I asked for a "topup" on my coffee.No problem so far.Nice breakfast.Went to pay and here is what happened.I was not only charged for the coffee which comes the breakfast but the topup as well! 16 euro for a mini breakfast..now come on. This is a nice premises in a great location owned by a family well known and liked by me.Therefore I am very suprised at this and wont be going there again nor will anyone I get talking to. Not good enough.No charity box available to put this additional 6 euro in as I offered.No sign of a manager.
27/11/2024: First time visitors, met by very pleasant staff. A lovely busy restaurant with a nice ambiance! Food was delicious & not short on portions (full Irish & Omelette). Just a note re drinks….coffees were served straight away which is a real bonus….its nice to relax while waiting for food….well done staff & management! Will be our first choice when returning to Roscommon.

Cosy atmosphere with the open fire on, I wasn't able to manage a pudding but from looking at others they looked lovely too.

31/12/2024: Family dinner 10 adults 5 children on 27th dec. the room was very cold and many items were not on the menu as hotel had been closed for 2 days. I am a pensioner and asked for half portion of curry, i could not eat full portion, but was told that the chef does not permit half portions. So i just took soup but, my mistake i did not ask the type of soup …. it was tomato soup which i could not eat! The other 9 adults were very happy with their food choice. I think that older people should be permitted to order smaller portions, rather than full portion and throwing out a lot of it, we should be encouraged to reduce food waste.
14/11/2024: The environment is truly charming, with a wall full of books that adds a unique touch to the atmosphere. The food is satisfactory, neither exceptional nor disappointing, overall providing an acceptable dining experience.

22/02/2025: We stayed for 3 nights on a b and b and 1 evening meal package. Fantastic value and beautiful location. The hotel staff were friendly and the food was excellent and enjoyable. We ate dinner in the hotel each night and was freshly cooked as was the breakfast. The only minor thing was that the mattress was a bit hard but apart from that it was one of the best hotels we have stayed in. I would recommend Óstan Loch Altan to everyone. Many thanks.

01/10/2024: A lovely bar, traditional, run lovingly by a family who've run it for decades. Right in front of a sea inlet , the owner was exceptionally kind & friendly to me & my learning disabled sister. Highly recommended. Pizza on sale but no actual restaurant open that day ( not sure of other days.) It wasn't "buzzing" but to escape from the stresses of modern day life, thus is your place. Picnic tables in front of sea. Ideal.

13/10/2024: Docked in here on a Sunday midday for breakfast/brunch. Place was well full but it's Sunday after all. Got a table down the back, fair enough.
Good varied menu in there but first thing that hits are the prices. This is an expensive spot. Full Irish breakfast is € 16:50 ! Can I keep the plate ? An hour later I was in Knock Airport and the full Irish was cheaper up there ! And we all know airport prices.
Ordered an uneventful scrambled egg and bacon which was slowly consumed waiting for my cappuccino that finally arrived from an under pressure young waitress.
It came with toast. Hooray. Asked for marmalade. They were all out.
Interesting......
I'll know for again......
