Friendly place with a great atmosphere. We arrived with kids and lots of luggage, but the manager found us a comfy spot. We enjoyed drinks and shared laughs with welcoming locals and tourists. A little later, live trad music kicked in. Such a good time we won’t forget. Highly recommend!

Superb whiskey bar. A welcome change from the usual pubs. A huge selection and a very helpful staff. I highly recommend it for the early part of the evening or late evening, as there's no food service.

A great classic pub with fantastic live music. We were there on a Sunday and the live music started at 7 pm. You should arrive by 6:30 pm at the latest, as it gets very crowded. The atmosphere is amazing!

Abbeyglen Castle Hotel

07/06/2026: We've had an amazing stay in this beautiful and authentic Castle, I can't thank you enough. Brian and all the staff are the real definition of "warm and welcoming", rooms are cozy and comfortable, restaurant with truly high quality menu. I wish we could stay longer than one night. See you again soon xxx
25/05/2026: Great first time experience in a castle! Beautiful castle and grounds, great bar and dinner was fantastic! Try the local lobster it is so sweet! Definitely stay here again.

Griffin's Bar

16/08/2026: A must visit in Clifden. The food is brilliant - fresh local mussels and seafood chowder are a must try. Family run pub for years. You won’t regret going.
24/06/2026: 10/10. We had the good fortune to discover the wonderful Griffin's Bar during our short stay in Clifden. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. However, the highlight was the thoroughly friendly, engaging and welcoming bar staff we met there. We recommend the bar in the highest terms and have every intention of returning. The other bars in Clifden have a lot to live up to.
