07/06/2026: We've had an amazing stay in this beautiful and authentic Castle, I can't thank you enough. Brian and all the staff are the real definition of "warm and welcoming", rooms are cozy and comfortable, restaurant with truly high quality menu. I wish we could stay longer than one night. 25/05/2026: Great first time experience in a castle! Beautiful castle and grounds, great bar and dinner was fantastic! Try the local lobster it is so sweet! Definitely stay here again.

07/09/2026: The quintessential pub, with its cozy atmosphere and inviting nooks. Arrive early if you want a chance of getting a seat during the live music. A must-see in Clifden.

08/09/2026: Wow! Totally blown away by this gem in Clifden. The food (we got the seafood skillet, soup, oysters, and mussels) were all delicious. The wine options were also great. The atmosphere and lighting was exceptional - so cozy and ambient, with so many private nooks and booths. The host and bartenders/servers were lovely and gracious. Would return any time and recommend as a stop to anyone! We went for dinner and were able to get sat at the bar with no reservation during the weekend, but they do get busy.

07/09/2026: A pub where you can eat and drink at lunchtime and in the evening. There's live music in the evenings; we stumbled upon the one with the little old man who had phenomenal energy for his age—it was really nice.

13/09/2026: We got a lovely table for two without a reservation. The welcome, service, and food recommendations were very friendly and professional. The tagliatelle was the best! Kudos to the kitchen.

09/09/2026: We haven’t had booking and it was almost end of service. We were welcomed without any problem, got a lovely table on the window. Service was excellent, the staff was incredibly friendly and didn’t make us feel at any point like its time to close. Food was also very good, rich in flavor, beautifully served. We were offered dessert and extras from a chef. Such a lovely place to visit once more and a unique pearl on a map of Connemara.

02/09/2026: We arrived around 7:45 pm on a Wednesday evening. The welcome was very warm… We hadn't booked, but it was outside of school holidays, so no problem… Even though we don't speak English very well, the young woman made the effort to explain things to us in simple terms… T-bone steak/scallops with smoked bacon/mussels… Everything was delicious… We had a very pleasant time

29/08/2026: We had a wonderful evening at Mannions! We came for their specialty, the stew, and also enjoyed other seafood dishes on the menu. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and were very warmly welcomed. Highly recommended!

24/09/2026: Had dinner here this evening. Overall, the food was alright, but nothing particularly special, and some of the mains were disappointing in terms of the amount of actual meat provided. The main thing I think customers should be aware of, however, is the 10% “optional” service charge. This was automatically added to our bill, and we found the process of declining it quite awkward. I personally don’t agree with automatically adding an optional service charge, particularly for a small table. In my experience, service charges are more commonly automatically applied to larger groups, and on this occasion I certainly didn’t feel the food or service warranted an additional 10%. For comparison, we ate in Guy’s Restaurant in Clifden a few nights ago and found the food considerably better, with no added optional service charge. Unfortunately, the service charge left a negative impression on what was otherwise an average enough meal. I think customers should be made very clearly aware of it before ordering and should feel completely comfortable declining it if they choose to do so

13/09/2026: I was somewhat appalled at my recent visit here. The waitress after coming from outside the restaurant, having a cigarette, proceeded to serve drink and food and never even washed her hands. Surely this should not be allowed. I'd just not bother going here again!

13/08/2026: Just stopped in for a great cappuccino after a wet hike, and guess what: there was a small treat offered to me, a butter cookie I believe - delicious! Sweet staff, if only I was in town longer, those baked goods seemed yummy 😋

14/09/2026: Didn’t think I’d be leaving a review for a wrap but the everything (not sure if this was the actual name) wrap with smoked salmon olives sun dried toms and more was a taste sensation. Think it was around 7.50 which is well worth the price. Packed for of salmon and the rest. Ignore super value and treat ya self here.

09/08/2026: A quick stop to buy some local products. The salmon is excellent, and so is the cheese. Stop by! I'm going back tomorrow.

03/07/2026: €300 a night and they won’t even serve me a cup of coffee 15 minutes before their breakfast officially starts. But they did ask me to move to the lobby. Thanks I walked the whole city from 5:45am until 6:45am looking for a coffee.

18/05/2026: The staff here make your stay very special . They are so welcoming and accommodating. The rooms are very clean and the breakfasts have a large range. The smoked salmon, scrambled eggs & capers are delicious.

04/09/2026: Food was average at best. We went here for dinner. The service was awful. The was waitress eating whole working then took and phone call lasting 15 min. She made eye contact with me as we waited over 30 minutes for our check. I finally stood up, left money on the table and walked out. Horrible service- I know it's difficult to

23/08/2026: Good service should prevent guests from making a mistake when ordering, instead of just praising everything as "Excellent." The lamb ribs with mint sauce absolutely must be ordered "pink"; because the chef didn't quite get "well-done" right, they were just tough and dry. Another culinary disappointment on our holiday.

12/09/2026: In the centre of Clifden, a lovely stop for lunch. Lots to choose from, delicious options and quick service. Reasonable prices with attentive staff on hand.
