I was in a cycling group passing by, this restaurant was simply delicious 😋 the service was very friendly. If passing again I'll for sure be ordering the chowder.

We ate here on a Thursday evening in June. It looked cozy and the staff friendly. We got a nice, quiet spot for two. My wife went for the mussels and I for the steak with peppercorn sauce, salad, and fries. We had a rosé and a cola with it. The steak, medium, was cooked a little too long and was more like a 3/4 done. Anyway, everything looked good; the plate was preheated and the peppercorn sauce came in a separate small pot.
The mussels tasted fine. The steak, however, was full of tendons; after just a few pieces, I had already taken a piece out of my mouth four times and placed it on a small plate next to it. Tough and impossible to chew. I tried it two more times after that, but the steak was impossible to chew. When the wait staff came over to ask kindly if everything was to our liking, I indicated that I couldn't eat the steak like that and asked if they would take it away. The wait staff then asked if I wanted a new steak or another dish. Unfortunately, that doesn't work for me; once something isn't right, I won't settle for second best. This is clearly a mistake by the cook. He sees the meat and probably buys it as well. A steak from an older cow is not suitable; you make stew or soup with that. It is a shame that it had to turn out this way; the service was friendly and tried to resolve the situation, which was painful for them as well, properly. Only the mussels and the wine were charged.

The last time I graced the doors of Mannions was over 25 years ago.
I was on the search for a decent bowl of chowder and my God I was not disappointed.
Aoife Mannion looked after us and what an incredible asset to the place. She commanded the service with professionalism and high standards. My two daughters were in awe of her and now want to manage restaurants when they're older.
The food was spectacular, competitively priced and the room was immaculately clean.
Can't wait to go back for the fish pie we keep hearing so much about.
Well done 👍

A pleasant pub/restaurant with many photos of Alcock and Brown, the two pilots who crossed the Atlantic (before Lindbergh). The food is plentiful. I often have the fish and chips, but this time I had the mussels. I was pleasantly surprised by the quantity and quality. Service is included in the bill (no doubt because the French are rather stingy when it comes to service!).
I recommend this pub for a good meal.
