The best food and best value in Clifden. Excellent tasty food & generous portions, the chicken curry is amazing. Also had burgers there. I cannot fault the place and look forward to returning.

We had the loveliest dinner. The food was amazing, we had the fish chowder, calamari, oysters, lamb stew and beef burger. All of them great with no exception. For dessert I heavily recommend the apple pie and the toffee. Aside from the wonderful food, the staff was super nice and very kind. They recommended various typical dishes, and made the dinner more enjoyable overall :) Definitely would recommend!

Very good food. We had mussels, fish and chips and chicken curry for my daughter. The fish and mussels were very fresh and the kids children curry had plenty of veg. The staff was young but very efficient and attentive.

Cosy, friendly, clean and fresh. Had chicken wings, fish and chips and sticky toffee pudding with Bridewell local beer. Delicious!! Great service, great price.

Lads, look no more for any other place in clifden to have a Beef burger - this place serves the absolute best & amazing beef burger with fries . The fries were long and crispy 😉. And the burger was juicy , a perfect blend of crunch from the bacon and sweetness of the caramelised onions. This combo will never go wrong even if you wanted it to go wrong .💪 Will definitely come again. 10/10 ( ask them for their buffalo sauce chicken wings and don't forget the Blue cheese dip ) goes well with them Fries as well. Legend . Would recommend 💯

30/03/2024: Update March 2024: The Lamplight has added breakfast/brunch on the weekends and weekdays over the summer. They are open a bit earlier than other places which is nice if you're more of an early riser. The food is also more upscale and updated. Breakfast is hard to find in town and this is a great addition to this awesome little spot From Jan 2022: Truly one of the best dining experiences I've had. We've eaten at the Lamplight once before in Fall 2021. That time, we had an amazing wine and ambiance experience and the food was good. Tonight (January 2022), was just exceptional. The wine selection was impeccable and the food superb. Our server, Ivan, was friendly and knowledgeable. Every bite of food tasted well planned and created with pride. We loved it so much we booked again for this weekend. If you are in Clifden, love amazing food and wine, this is the place to go. Great atmosphere and even better dining.
30/03/2024: If you haven’t been to this wonderful restaurant yet, get your glad rags on immediately! This is the best restaurant with top quality food and wonderful staff! The food was incredible and extremely reasonable for the best mouthwatering food I’ve had in a long time. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

31/03/2024: Genuinely such a lovely cosy restaurant. Yesterday we were in Clifden, the town was so busy and we didn’t expect to find somewhere that would have a table for us. We walked by this restaurant and the menu interested us all. We went in and asked and they said they could fit us in. Within minutes all 6 of us were seated and ordered. Our drinks were brought to the table along with a complimentary cracker and what we think was a crab pâté. Our food was quick to the table. We had ordered Carbonara, Lamb shank, Rib, Seafood chowder, ham and Turkey. Everybody loved everything. The service was amazing, the staff continued to check in everything was perfect. Can’t ask for anything more than amazing service and amazing food. Definetly will return if I’m in Clifden again.
