Foyle's Hotel

05/08/2025: A very nice, old school hotel. It has a quaint and cozy feel. Downsides are that there is only street parking (or a municipal lot), there is also no lift (but they happily ferry your luggage up and down for you), and the guests tend to skew older.
05/08/2025: Had dinner and the food and service was tops. The staff was so friendly great place highly recommended

It was quite crowded during lunch.
03/09/2025: Food was average- my eclair was somewhat stale and the cappuccino was not very hot. In addition the staff were trying to cordon off the most scenic seating from an hour before closing under the pretext of needing to clean - this is what is normally done AFTER closing, not before…
Very disappointing- try somewhere else…

02/08/2025: I stayed for just one night in the rooms on the floor above the pub. The room was small but fully equipped. The atmosphere was clean. The ensuite bathroom had a hot, well-functioning shower. There was a kettle for heating water and making instant coffee or tea.
The only downside: there was no hairdryer provided (but I didn't even ask for one...).
The pub is very nice, frequented mostly by locals. It has a good selection of whiskeys.
01/07/2025: We didnt have any food so cannot comment. Friendly Staff, extremely clean room and very comfortable bed. Sadly we got a bit of extreme bad luck with the couple staying in WB Yeats Room. shouting, arguing, kicking doors. It was peaceful before they checked in and again before they got home from their night out. Such a Pity.

14/08/2025: Great all round, our man Ivan knows his stuff. Chatty & intersting but not intrusive lovely suggestions on wine. We will be back. Get that restaurant back open with the smoker 😁

20/09/2025: Stopping in for a beer and an Irish coffee, the service was fast, but the coffee was undrinkable, with rancid cream and a fishy smell. Another customer complained about the product, and the unfriendly owner asked her to leave. Drink left, but no goodwill gesture or apology.
08/09/2025: Great experience all the way around- service,
food and atmosphere all excellent! We had specials. They came to us promptly- really tasty.

22/08/2025: I ate here recently and had delicous shredded chicken with sweet and sour sauce which was fantastic. One of the best sweet and sour sauces I've had. The chips I was served were cold unfortunately but were nice. Egg friend rice was tasty. Staff were really nice and friendly.
06/08/2025: A pleasant moment, all in softness and finesse! I really enjoyed the Thai beef pasta. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy good Asian food.

27/03/2025: I used to be a regular of this takeaway with my partner and it was fine but god now the last two times the service has be so so bad over half hour for are food terrible service we be going to apache from now on and the food is actually nicer
05/03/2025: Great spot for a good breakfast, 6 euro including a nice coffee, where would you get that value? Standard of takeaway food is generally very good her for the price.

14/11/2024: Beautiful shop and selection of local and imported goods. Fresh and made to order lunch menu, and great coffee. Very friendly owners.
Happy to have stumbled into this shop on our trip around Connemara.
09/09/2024: Great place where to find very tasty launchboxes, with lot of different ingredients available. The bread is fantastic as well.

Tom King's Bar And Snug

28/07/2025: Visited twice over two days. The first time to watch the Lions v Australia game. Amazing atmosphere and great to watch it with the locals. The second time we wanted to watch the Women’s Euros Final. We arrived for the second half and although they didn’t have it in the screens they out it in for us. We were able to watch rest of the match even though we were the only English in the bar. So grateful for their kindness and hospitality. Would highly recommend this place.
08/07/2025: Old school pub….. mood was cozy and this is evidently a locals choice.
Great service and quiet enough to enjoy a drink on a lazy Monday! Pub was very dark so I couldn’t really take any photos inside - but take my word for it you’ll love the atmosphere.
