The staff were the kindest and most friendly I experienced during my stay in Clifden. They even let me store my luggage so I could go on an extra hike before taking a bus back to Galway. The food was also excellent.

Food was fantastic, this was everyone's favorite food stop of the week. We had the fish pie, chicken sandwich and shrimp/salmon open faced sandwich. Prices were way lower than Dublin and the food was better!

A place so great we went back twice in a row! I took my nan the first night & our incredibly funny waiter took the time to banter with her all evening. We loved our food, and on the second night, the special (fish tacos) were SO SO good. 10/10 from us!

Not that great. Pretty dissapointed in the food. But the staff were lovely and welcoming. I think the chef has just given up. Fish and chips were probably the worst insipid excuse for food I have tasted in a long time. Tasteless and undercooked.

Foyle's Hotel

27/05/2026: A charming old historic hotel full of character and authenticity. It is very centrally located right in the heart of Clifden, which naturally means there can occasionally be a little bit of street activity already early in the morning. However, the unique location and atmosphere more than make up for it, and the prices are very reasonable and fair. We especially enjoyed the breakfast — the homemade plum compote and homemade apple compote were absolutely delicious. The hospitality from the entire team was excellent, and we felt very well looked after throughout our stay. We were very satisfied and would gladly return.
21/05/2026: The room and bathroom were spacious, very clean, and warm. There were plenty of breakfast options, and the restaurant was excellent with friendly, attentive service. Highly recommended!
