This is always a must-stop any time I’m in Clifden. Delicious fresh fish, expertly cooked, served with style. A top-notch experience, every time. Today, cod gougons, crisp in panko breadcrumbs, with simple tasty dressed potato and salad. I’m already dreaming of my next visit!

Great food and good atmosphere. Genuinely the best oysters I’ve ever had, and the Killary muscles were lovely too. Good pint of Guinness and nice wine to go with it!

Absolutely loved our meal at Mitchell’s. The oysters were so fresh and might be the best I’ve ever had. We got a platter and it all tasted amazing and the portion sizes were amazing. The staff were great and if I’m ever in Galway again I’ll be sure to stop by

Foyle's Hotel

27/05/2026: A charming old historic hotel full of character and authenticity. It is very centrally located right in the heart of Clifden, which naturally means there can occasionally be a little bit of street activity already early in the morning. However, the unique location and atmosphere more than make up for it, and the prices are very reasonable and fair. We especially enjoyed the breakfast — the homemade plum compote and homemade apple compote were absolutely delicious. The hospitality from the entire team was excellent, and we felt very well looked after throughout our stay. We were very satisfied and would gladly return.
21/05/2026: The room and bathroom were spacious, very clean, and warm. There were plenty of breakfast options, and the restaurant was excellent with friendly, attentive service. Highly recommended!

Marconi Restaurant

23/08/2026: Good service should prevent guests from making a mistake when ordering, instead of just praising everything as "Excellent." The lamb ribs with mint sauce absolutely must be ordered "pink"; because the chef didn't quite get "well-done" right, they were just tough and dry. Another culinary disappointment on our holiday.
