Right in the city center, had a lovely meal outside, baked brie as a starter, then both fish dishes, a nice beer to go with it, sublime💪😋

VERY delicious food. Perfect blend of spices - hats off to the chef… they truly know how to cook. The slow cooked pork melted in my mouth. I’m just sad that I’m not staying another night to eat here again a second night.

While the food was very good the service was slow and inattentive. When you are caught in the middle of closing up activities while waiting for someone to clear the main course dishes and offer deserts, it makes for a poor experience and atmosphere.

A fabulous cosy restaurant with excellent service and ( in our opinion) Michelin quality food!! We were delighted to be seated as a walk in last night at our first visit to Clifden and The Willow Tree, especially as it was a busy Bank Holiday Sunday evening. Amazing efficient and friendly staff and such quick service. The food was incredible, absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. Its been a long time since we ve given a 10/10 for every dish. Wonderful staff and a lovely spot. A must if you appreciate good food.

Our dinner was absolutely fabulous! Sandra was lovely and personable. Our monkfish was perfectly cooked and the sauce was delicious. The scalloped potatoes were exceptional. The seafood tagliatelle was lovely. The smoked salmon made the dish. We had a delightful table tucked away in a corner and it was a perfect evening! Thanks! We’ll be back!!

25/07/2026: Tipping in Ireland is not like the U.S. (unless you eat here). First place in 4 trips to Ireland that “automatically add 10% gratuity” and unlike the states, where automatic gratuities are added when the party size is 6 or more people, this is added regardless of party size. I always tip when here anyway, so not a big deal, just never saw that anywhere but here. Food was wonderful, service good. Our first time here MANY years ago was to a bar… they have redone the place since and completely different vibe as mainly a restaurant with a tiny bar.

02/08/2026: We went on a Saturday night and the music was fantastic! Two young musicians from music school, a flautist and a guitarist/singer, played a mix of popular Irish music and traditional instrumental music. It was really good! And of course, a nice pint of Guinness went perfectly with it!
