Woodfire
Westport
31/01/2026: The Woodfire is a great place to eat and dine, if you have a hankering for Pizza. Wifey and Hubby went with a couple of friends. And all were happy and full with the menu. Wifey and Hubby Haven't been back for at least 6 odd years.
Back then the menu range was bigger and more diverse. Now they are more selective, specialising in pizzas. A decent meal option, which they do very well.
Hubby was silly, opting not to pizza, in a place that specializes in oven pizzas. Everyone else did, hubby went with the lamb burger, which was great, but was something he did regret.
I like Pizza, I prefer a deep pan style myself, here they prefer the thin crust. but the question hubby asked himself was would I order it for dinner? Still Wifey had the pineapple one, which I had a few slices of. Regardless of the pineapple topping, I cannot fault it in the slightest.
The only disappointment with the menu was the lack of desserts or even coffees at the end. We all left full and not wanting more, but I wish there was something available to end the meal.
Side note, the chips are good too. Hand cut and homemade. A small decent high quality portion.
Either way a great place to eat pizza and wine. Or in Hubby's case IPA, definitely recommend...
26/01/2026: A great little place. Lovely pizza

The Fish Box
An daingean
30/01/2026: Lovely clean bright restaurant, tasty yet reasonable food, and really friendly service.
16/01/2026: The BEST seafood chowder I've ever eaten. I could've just ordered a bowl of just that. I was surprised they had gluten free bread available for me and gluten free fried items. The staff were courteous and prompt. They don't take reservations but it very calm when we visited. The best food I during our trip in Ireland.

Dolan's Pub
Limerick
06/01/2026: We attended a Hermitage Green concert. The members of staff were fantastic.
06/01/2026: Easily the best run bar and venue in Limerick City. A haven for mature punters who appreciate alternative sounds and laid back atmosphere. I've not tried the food but the menu looks enticing.

Spillane's
12/09/2025: Ordered a classic Spillane’s burger with the works.. Mar’s burger sauce, bacon, cheese.. SO delicious! 10/10
11/09/2025: I’ve been coming to this place for over 20 years and I’ve been disappointed at how much the food has declined in recent years but went again today just to give it another go. The veggie options were really poor, I was served what seemed like a frozen burger with frozen chips, and then charge €1 extra for a slice of American cheese. It felt like no care or attention went into the food. The people I was with were equally disappointed (they had non-veggie options). Really disappointing experience compared to what this place used to be.

McGann's Pub
15/02/2026: Popped in on a Wednesday night in dark damp January. Nice open fire. Thought the kitchen may be closed but ordered and ate two decent fish and chips. Tartar sauce was a bit weird, sort of a chemical taste but otherwise fine. Guinness was good, and a good price. Look forward to coming back when the place is in full swing.
14/02/2026: It was quite lovely. The music was good The Guinness,a bit sweet. Conversation lively. The bartender lovely and attentive. I wonderful place to round out your evening.

The Vintage Kitchen
Dublin
19/01/2026: This is BY FAR the best meal we’ve had in Dublin and honestly in many cities regardless of country or continent. The chowder was robust, complex and flavorful without the use of crab and lobster which most places lean on for flavor - I could literally have bathed in It. We also got the short rib and sea bass- Each dish was thoughtful, well seasoned and genuinely made you want to come back for more. If I find myself in Dublin again there is no question where my first meal will be. There are several Michelin recommendations in the area but they have nothing on this place - do yourself a favor and get your reservation now - I feel certain you won’t be disappointed. Chef Sean Drugan if not a legend already is certainly one in the making
14/01/2026: The mussels were outstanding, the short ribs were fork tender and slid right off the bone. The sea bass was excellent as well. The chocolate cake for dessert was magnificent. Great work guys!
