Darkey Kelly's
Dublin
09/06/2026: I broke my ânever eat at the same place twiceâ rule for Darkey Kellyâs⊠and Iâm not even mad about it.
The restaurant is a bit of a battlefield for tables but play the long game and youâll win. Once youâre in, itâs pure payoff: THE BEST fish and chips, and a stew that feels like itâs been cooking in Dublinâs soul for centuries. Zero complaints about the service, the servers were quick, on it, and pleasant.
I went in expecting a decent pub meal and left questioning whether Iâve ever actually had fish and chips before this moment.
Bottom line: chaotic, lively, and absolutely worth it.
09/06/2026: Best Fish and Chips! Light and crispy. I wouldnât go anywhere else.

The Legal Eagle
Dublin
04/07/2026: Excellent food. Very friendly service. Highly recommended!
29/06/2026: Came for the Sunday roast as we're always excited to find a good one and had read great reviews. Unfortunately despite multiple nice touches and considerations like the gorgeous interior and the veggie roast coming with veg gravy for example, it was really disappointing. The roast potatoes were leathery, hard to cut and chew. The cauliflower cheese side was watery and not very well seasoned. The meat was soft and tasty but overall quite expensive for the portion size. Some of the digestifs also came as shots rather than in a glass with ice which I wasn't expecting. Wait staff are very friendly and attentive, but we did feel rushed.
A heads up on pricing: a service charge is included in the bill, and for regular menus you have to order a certain amount per person, so it may not be suited to a group or special occasion as we'd hoped if everyone has to lock in and agree ahead of time.

Tibhurca, Clonbur
06/07/2026: Dorrota, Justyna, and Dominik are fantastic! Excellent food and brilliant service. You need to come here for truly quality food, and very friendly service. The prices are very reasonable and the restaurant is in a lovely setting. Live music made the night even more enjoyable. Portion size was truly filling but it did not take away from the quality of the food.
02/07/2026: We had such a wonderful meal here recently. The food was absolutely delicious and presented with such care. Everything tasted fresh and flavourful.
I was particularly impressed by the curry, which came with a perfect side of naan bread. It was a hearty and comforting dish that hit the spot. We also really enjoyed the pasta and the roast, as each plate was cooked to perfection.
The atmosphere was lovely and the whole experience was truly enjoyable. It is rare to find a place where every single dish is this consistent. We will definitely be coming back soon for another visit.

Dela
Galway
06/07/2026: I found this place while deciding where to have brunch during my day trip to Galway. To start with the conclusion, the staff were very friendly and nice, but I should have ordered the Eggs Benedict or pancakes instead.
I was debating between the Mushroom and this one, but since it came with a poached egg, I ordered this one. It was really tasty, but the egg was really, really bad. The yolk was a runny yolk that was almost fully cooked, and the egg white had a chewy texture due to the egg white skin, which wasn't good at all.
The fries were just okay. The cutting was also poor, and they were fluffy, so if you're planning to order the mushroom toast, I think ordering a drink is a must!
I saw some Korean reviews and decided to visit.
I really loved the serviceâit was warm and thoughtful.
But the food was a bit disappointing⊠Did I expect too much? đ„č
The poached egg wasnât really poachedâthe yolk was almost fully cooked.
That said, the mushrooms were nutty and had a really nice texture. I actually enjoyed that part.á.á
They(on review) had eggs Benedict with bacon, I think!
If you want to try something, go for itâor get the pancakes đ„
06/07/2026: Disappointing, fry was less expensive than a small breakfast burger and had to pay extra for an egg.
Seating uncomfortably close to next table.
Coffee was late. Staff very pleasant however.

Lowry's Bar
Clifden
09/06/2026: I went there to try the Irish whiskeys, and my girlfriend ordered the Dulay gin with Fever Tree tonic, the best tonic in my opinion. The prices are reasonable, and the waiter gave excellent advice.
06/06/2026: Having looked in all other bars in Clifden I would always choose this spot. Lovely friendly staff, great music, clean and tasty pints. Plus super welcoming to our dog. Thanks lads đ

Freddy's Bistro
Limerick
08/05/2026: This restaurant really stands out in limerick, probably one of the best dining experiences in the city and beyond.
From the moment we arrived we were welcomed by very polite friendly and smiling staff.
Itâs quite difficult to choose from the menu because all the dishes sound amazing.
Finally when we decided we had some delicious fresh bread and butter, the prawn and chorizo pil pil was outstanding couldnât get enough of it , fish cakes delicious and the lamb was unbelievably soft and juicy.
The staff were extremely attentive without be overbearing, no hovering. Superb service.
I would dine here again in a heartbeat. This has to be where you dine if your only in limerick for one night and a must if your here any longer.
24/04/2026: Great dining spot in Limerick. Food was delicious - we enjoyed everything we ordered, service was great, nice ambiance, staff were very lovely and attentive. Would love to come back and try the rest of the menu. Highly recommend this restaurant

Mary's
Dublin
07/07/2026: What appears to be a small pub from the outside is much bigger than expected. With an interesting decor and organization. It also has a large burger place on the lower floor. Which was actually great quality for a fast food venue.
27/06/2026: We went to the pub for drinks and not for food (they are co-located spaces) and it is self service. It is a beautiful place, relaxed, in my opinion not one of the nicest in the city but definitely one of the most well-known and busy!
Very reasonable prices.

Palace Bar
Dublin
11/07/2026: Visited a few times over my time in Dublin.
Got some great advice on Whiskey from the bar staff who all pointed me in different directions, all had their favourite, and all were honest about what they didn't like as well.
Great atmosphere, parked up at the bar for a couple of hours each time, yarned to some locals, some tourists, and the staff. Highly recommend.
Also some great beer too. Not just Guinness.
10/07/2026: A golden whiskey
