13/09/2025: We were recommended dinner at Nancy's. And they were right!!!!
We had a delicious dinner.
Oysters and chowder as a starter and smoked mackerel as a main. Apple pie to finish; all washed down with an excellent Guinness.
Even though the place was packed (due to a wedding taking place there), the owner went out of his way to find us a table without even having to wait. The proverbial Irish kindness is wonderful!!!!
Finally, I'd like to add that the quality/price ratio is truly excellent.
If you're in Donegal, don't miss Nancy's!!!

24/08/2025: Stopped for lunch as Oughterard was midway on our drive from Doolin to Clifden ... was thrilled to be able to stop, if only to take photos, as the name on the building matches my last name. We were able to sit and eat lunch on a rainy Sunday afternoon. The seafood chowder was the best I ate during our 2 weeks in Ireland (and I think I had seafood chowder at least 7 or 8 times) as it was chock full of seafood. Quality pour of Guinness as well. My kids rated the fish and chips highly and my wife loved the vegetable soup and brown bread. Will be back one day to linger a bit longer and sample the night life.
21/08/2025: Great atmosphere. Friendly and warm place. Rory and his colleagues are caring and very kind. Quality cuisine. Traditional music on Sunday evenings. A concentrate of Ireland just a stone's throw from Connemara. Go there without hesitation.

29/08/2025: They fit us in on short notice, no notice actually. Usually its by booking. So book in advance so they can accommodate you. The food was immaculate and so tasty and fresh. There was something for everyone and the service was top notch so quick hardly any wait time at all. Highly Highly recommend

06/09/2025: Vegetarian & Normal Friendly. Soup was excellent. Burger, yes the burger, was outstanding. Carbonara & Risotto very very good.
My wife, who is a pizza-lover and profoundly particular, said that this is one of the best pizzas that she has ever had. Pizza was the perfect balance of thin crust & artisanal with the ‘correct’ amount of cheese & savory sauce.
Overall, strongly suggest this place for a celebration with the vegetarian in your life.

Ran the dingle half marathon and ate here twice!
Got the cod and monkfish. Cod is very soft and monkfish has a more “chewy” texture. Both were absolutely delicious. Breading is perfectly crisp and chips were fantastic!
Fantastic food and friendly service!
04/09/2025: This place is usually packed. I ate the fish and chips Hake and it was freshly caught too. The cook gives really big portions, he definitely doesn't cheap out.

19/08/2025: I was in Killarney Saturday with a friend of mine we had tryed our luck in a few establishments to no avail so we went to this premises with no reservation and to our surprise the host Pat kindly offered us a table for two upstairs which we were delighted to accept it was very clean cosy nice atmosphere and the food was delicious we had a three course meal which we enjoyed thoroughly so we will be back for sure

They are friendly and it is comfortable, but I will not repeat.

17/08/2025: Fantastic experience all around. The restaurant is so comfortable and cozy. Great staff and the food was excellent. Had a thoroughly lovely time here. Had the fresh lobster croquettes starter, the tbone steak with blue cheese walnut sauce, the chocolate indulgence and a decaf cappuccino. A perfect Sunday treat!

17/08/2025: I had a wonderful experience at People’s Restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, with every dish full of flavour and clearly made with care. The staff were very attentive and made us feel well looked after throughout the meal. The ambiance was calm and relaxing, perfect for enjoying good food and company. I especially loved the homemade desserts, a real treat to finish off the evening. Overall, excellent value for money. Highly recommended!
07/08/2025: For the first time I was in years disappointed, all the food was very salty, I couldn't taste the fish or sauce flavour. 😢
