15/03/2025: Cannot recommend The Vintage Kitchen enough. A hidden gem with an understated fun atmosphere. We had the Friday night tasting menu and everything was outstanding. Each course was delicious and staff were attentive and helpful. Will definitely go back. Book in advance!

17/03/2025: We stayed for 2 nights at Nevis in the lodge, which is next door to the bar and restaurant. When we arrived we were greeted by a lady at reception who was absolutely lovely and so so helpful. She brought us to our room which was in the lodge. To be honest I was blown away by it. It was absolutely gorgeous and looked newly decorated. It was like a 5-star hotel. We had breakfast in the morning in the bar/restaurant which was spotlessly clean and had two cosy fires on. The staff were so friendly and the food delicious. I really can’t praise Nevins enough. It really is a little jewel in the crown. If you are visiting and staying around the Newport/Mulranny area I highly recommend it. We’ve already pre-booked a stay for September which we can’t wait for! Thanks to everyone at Nevins for making our stay perfect. See you in September!

17/03/2025: Fabulous weekend at the Nevin Inn. Owner John and all the staff were so friendly and helpful. Food is excellent. Scenery around the Nevin is spectacular. So recommend a stay at the Nevin inn 👌 So easy for visiting Achill Island and Westport area.

16/03/2025: I don't know how to express how special this stay was. The beautiful castle is like stepping into another era, the staff are universally exceptional - warm, welcoming, professional and exceptionally hard working. Staying here was an experience I'll never forget and I hope I can go back for every special occasion I have to celebrate! The restaurant is worth travelling to whether you stay or not - I've only had this level of service, food & atmosphere simultaneously a handful of times in my life. The rooms are luxury and elegance. The bed, pillows and linen were a cocoon after a long drive, and the next morning I woke up at dawn to birdsong. Treat yourself to a stay here; it's an experience that's become almost extinct.

25/02/2025: We came here to check out the venue before our wedding - we had a fabulous room. The beds were so comfy and the breakfast was delicious 😋 The staff are very friendly and helpful and the bar serves a great pint of Guinness!

18/03/2025: I came here for lunch with my family on Paddy's Day, and the service was horrible—especially from the older lady with short hair, who I assume was the greeter. All the tables were occupied, which was understandable, but the restaurant wasn’t overly crowded, and the atmosphere seemed calm. I asked for a table and was met with a sharp “We’re full.” No hello. No warm welcome. Just pure rudeness. I then asked if we could wait, and she responded with another sharp “No.” She added that we could come back in half an hour or an hour. This didn’t make sense to me—if we wanted to eat there and a table opened up in 10 or 15 minutes, we’d miss our chance to be seated. I asked again to clarify whether we could wait in the empty open waiting area, and with one last dismissive and slightly annoyed “No,” the conversation was over. We ended up standing outside Lambert’s, trying to figure out our next move, and saw others go in to check if there were tables available, only to be sent back out. While waiting, I wondered why they couldn’t simply allow a line to form outside. It didn’t seem that difficult—there was space on the sidewalk, no fire hazard, and it would have been a reasonable solution. Instead, we had to find somewhere else to eat while our daughter cried from hunger. We eventually found another restaurant, which also filled up soon after we arrived. But even when it was full, the hostess there empathetically informed customers that there were no available seats and even offered to take their number to call them when a table opened up. That level of customer service was miles ahead of what we experienced at Lambert’s. I can’t help but feel that the staff at Lambert’s take their popularity and the fact that many people would be visiting for Paddy's Day for granted. No matter how they treat people, they know more customers will keep coming in. I ate here once before and really enjoyed the food, but after this experience, I’m struggling to see myself ever going back.

23/03/2025: The Celt Bar is the perfect spot to experience the Irish pub culture. Perfect place to relax with a pint of Guinness and enjoy good food. The staff are friendly and happy to recommend drinks and food. We ordered fish and chips, The Celt's Irish beef stew and the half roast chicken. If you are visiting Dublin and want to experience some genuine Irish pub, The Celt Bar is a great choice.

23/03/2025: The Celt was my first food stop in Dublin and it was a unique way to start off my trip. Felt like an authentic pub with lots to look at. Had a reservation and was promptly taken care of. Food was phenomenal and the atmosphere was lively. Chatted with some locals and overall had a fun time.

10/03/2025: Same problem as always for me. We ordered fish and chips (which was nice) but when I saw what everyone one else had from their menu I should have ordered that instead. The other customers food looked lovely; I was jealous. The place is full of locals, visitors, farmers and workers from all around the area enjoying a great reasonabley priced meal. Must pop in again when passing through.

17/03/2025: Interesting place for breakfast. At first glance, the price may be off-putting, but the meal was really good and the portion was huge. Honestly, I couldn't eat anything else until the evening. Additionally, the price of breakfast includes coffee or tea :) The decor is atmospheric and the service is nice. One of the waitresses turned out to be Polish, which was a pleasant surprise. To sum up - I definitely recommend going to this place at least once to try a good Irish breakfast.

15/03/2025: This is a delightful, even slightly quirky restaurant. The staff were courteous and friendly. Service was very efficient. For me as a vegetarian, it was one of the best meals out I have had in a long time. We also had breakfast the next morning and again the vegetarian option was excellent. I felt that the vegetarian menu was imaginative and delicious.
