23/08/2025: Had lunch/dinner here. Had the battered fish of the day which was very nice, others had lamb burger, a bit dry, should prob be served medium rather that well done, the staff were very accommodating for one of our party that wanted their chick gougons in hot sauce. The wing starter was yum but needed celery for the rest of the blue cheese sauce. Would I go back..yes defo. Just some miner issues but over all, a love experience. Plus the views of Tralee bay are amazing. On this visit I'd rate it 8.3/10.

10/08/2025: The food was delicious; we had a salad with goat cheese, a burger, fries, and dessert. The service was very friendly, and we quickly got a table in the very busy pub.

06/08/2025: We have stayed at Scholars for a number of years. The rooms are always clean and comfortable. The staff are welcoming and helpful. The food is great. We love to stay here.

13/07/2025: My fresh delicate panfried sea-bass was overpowered by the asian flavours of the stir fried vegetables and sauce it was served on. The barely reheated glutinous mashed potatoes and the herby tomato sauce belonged to another dish entirely. I never waste food but for once I left most of it, bar the fish. I couldn’t get my head around the odd combination of food items. Neither was my friend’s beautiful fresh hake enhanced by the thick bland white sauce which had no wine in it. The espresso martinis were delicious and the staff friendly even though run off their feet. Hard not to have ‘fresh’ fish in this location so a simpler more focussed menu would drag this place into the 21st century. Rave reviews indeed but choose wisely. Over-rated and overpriced pub grub from the 90s would best describe it for me.

15/08/2025: Situated just a short drive out of Killarney, Killeen House is the perfect mix of being accessible to but not in the mix of the crowd. Exceptional service, we constantly felt welcomed and cared for. The beds were incredibly comfortable. No air con but we were provided a fan when asked.

08/08/2025: I was really looking forward to staying at this hotel. When we arrived at reception, they asked me to move because I was in the way, which I took the wrong way. The least I could do is give those staying here a chance to book. A table of 20 people arrived. No luck, I had booked the hotel because of the restaurant (there were only two of us). In addition, the room's soundproofing was poor; we could hear everything going on in the hallway. I slept badly, and I found the price comparable to other hotels I've stayed in this week. I'm very disappointed...

22/07/2025: Came here for dinner with a small group and got the cod, sea bass and fish cakes. Wowwwww the food was delicious! All the fish was so light and we watched them be hand battered. Fantastic for a quick dine in or takeaway

18/08/2025: Food and service were amazing- great pre-gig lunch and cocktails, but I'd go back regardless if I were going to a gig or not! Yummy!!

18/08/2025: I've visited here for lunches and dinner and food is consistently good. Fish tacos are particularly fresh and tasty. Staff and owner are lovely and so helpful. Great neighbourhood restaurant.

07/08/2025: Lovely place close to the Latin quarter. The best vegan burger I have had in a long time. Very welcoming service and great food overall. If I'd live in Galway this would be my go to place!

26/08/2025: Was looking for a restaurant close to Curracloe Beach and stumbled upon this little gem. Great experience, 100% reccomend this. Insane beef brisket and a large beer choice (sour beers too!). Staff is also super kind!

28/07/2025: Called in on speck after completing the. “Tochar Phadraig”.They took us despite the fact that the kitchen had just stopped serving.The food was delicious.I had the vegan,others had fish and some the roast beef.All were fab.The staff were something else.Rarely have I been made feel so welcome.I would highly recommend this pub/restaurant. It is truly a little gem.

17/08/2025: Fab spot to stop for the best pancakes, lots of options for toppings sweet and savory! The cottage is beautiful and unique, there is also outdoor seating in a lovely garden area. This will definitely be a stop any time I’m near Kenmare/Killarney!

10/08/2025: A friendly pub, but there's a noticeable lack of effort to understand foreign customers. The food is delicious as it is.

08/08/2025: Not a great experience. Microwaved food. Tough chicken, lumpy mash potatoes, tasteless sauce, soggy lasagne that tasted clearly defrosted and microwaved. The seats had torn fabric, the decor is old and in need of freshening, dirty toilets with broken toilet seats. So disappointing. The only positive is the nice and friendly staff, they were very pleasant, enthusiastic and helpful.

01/07/2025: 2yrs ago I visited Weavers and had scone&coffee and as I had eaten dinner there 3 times in few months and wasn't impressed, I decided never again.... So two years later...On end june 2025, myself and a friend called in for dinner and the place looked lovely and more cosy, the staff were very friendly, efficient and helpful as they always are and the food was delicious. I had beef stroganoff with rice&chips and my friend had beef with gravy, chips&salad. (Chips here are moreish) Both dinners were Yum! We then ordered chocolate cake,icecream,cream and tiramisu,icecream,cream and coffee. Both again were delicious. Really delighted that Weavers have upped their game and I will be meeting more friends there soon.

23/07/2025: I was here for a work function, and everything was great, food, service, people, and location. Food is on the higher end in terms of cost, but quality matched it. Recommend a visit!!!

14/08/2025: We had the chilli eggs and beef brisket, followed by baileys cheesecake served with vanilla ice cream and fresh berries. Main courses were freshly cooked, well seasoned, tasty and generous portion. Dessert was also very tasty, smooth and creamy, refreshing and a great finish to brunch. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.

03/08/2025: The menu was not up to date, expect to pay between 20 and 30 euros for a dish + drink.
