Galway
17/02/2026: Really beautiful place, the indecor is impressive. The service was really lovely and attentive. The food was super tasy and fresh .
12/02/2026: Top restaurant experience in Galway. Fabulous food and perfect staff attention. It cost more than your average Galway restaurant but you do get what you pay for. It's down a little lane at the bottom of Shop street.

Bastible

Dublin
18/01/2026: We had a lovely lunch at Bastible and the food was delicious. The portions however were really small (even for a tasting menu) and we unfortunately left hungry. We did enjoy our experience but it would be good if the staff didn’t rush you out - they took our final plates away and replaced it immediately with the bill and card reader which felt a little inhospitable for a Michelin restaurant. We found somewhere else for a coffee afterwards! Would still recommend for taste of the food.
17/01/2026: Honestly, this place is a total joke! It's not a Michelin star restaurant—more like a delusional minus star spot for wannabe rich people. The food? Absolutely appalling. We waited over two hours for the tiniest portions I've ever seen. I'm talking about plates that had one bite of food on them—there were four of us, and we barely had enough to eat! Every dish tasted the same, and we sadly went through seven of these microscopic plates. It felt like they just divided one sad piece of fish among the whole restaurant. And don’t get me started on the prices! It’s way overpriced for what you get. If you’re looking for a real dining experience, just skip this place and go to Guilbaud restaurant instead. Seriously, save your money and your appetite—this place is a complete ripoff .

Scanlons Pub

Kinnegad
03/02/2026: Good country pub with good traditional food
01/02/2026: My saughter and I stopped by Scanlons in Kinnegad to try their famous breakfast. We were not disappointed!!! I ordered a breakfast roll and my daughter the full irish breakfast. Our tea arrived within minutes by a friendly waitress who had a chat with us. There was a few in the pub and the atmosphere was warm and friendly. I enjoyed the breakfast roll with bacon, sausage, egg and black pudding and the irish breakfast was as expected a plate loaded with bacon , sausage, egg, black and white pudding, hash brown , beans with toast. We had a feast!!! The food waz hot, delicious, and the tea was gorgeous, just what we wanted on a cold rainy morning. Less than 20 euro for the breakfast for two was fantastic. Service was quick and super friendly. Scanlons are now our go to place for breakfast but we cant wait to try their lunch menu andvtheir early bird A la carte dinner menu. 100% recommended.

Ballymore Inn

Ballymore eustace
28/02/2026: Visited as a group of 5 for brunch. Food was amazing and the staff were welcoming and friendly. Great value for money too.
26/02/2026: I had read about the Ballymore Inn over the years in various newspaper reviews but never actually got to visit. I went last week with family over from the UK and we wanted a good brunch as we had collected them from a morning flight. The brunch is only a new thing and I hope they keep it. Everyone agreed it was easily the best breakfast they'd ever had. You can taste the quality and care that went into sourcing/baking the food and preparation. Absolutely delicious! I went for Irish breakfast and usually I would avoid it because most places in Ireland do a greasy plate of meat. This was absolutely incredible - no grease, not awful fat - really good quality meat, the most amazing B&W puddings I have ever tasted - an incredible, what tasted like hand made, hash brown, poached egg....plenty of variety and a large portion. Accompanied by amazing treacle brown bread and toasted sourdough. I can't recommend this place enough for brunch/breakfast to be honest. The staff are lovely, it has a very cosy relaxing atmosphere, it's handy to get to from the main roads. Probably a little on the pricey side - but no more so than anywhere else in Ireland at the moment, ...but it is WORLDS apart in terms of good quality - so very much worth it.

25/02/2026: Been away for a few months. Popped into the elm tree for Sunday lunch. Just as good as all ways, still good value, food still great except the roast potatoes, just too crispy.

Monks Ballyvaughan

Ballyvaughan
07/03/2026: We only went to the bar. Great setting. Very friendly staff. Beautiful view. Typical of Ireland.
23/02/2026: Absolutely top class. We visited Ballyvaughan this weekend as a large kayaking group with friends and family and ate both nights in Monks. The staff were lovely and very engaging, happy to make recommendations on the food and chat even though it was busy. The portions are very generous and the food quality is fantastic. There is probably only one place in Ireland where the fish, on the fish burger is actually bigger than the buns. Monks! The fish and chips was lovely on the first night and the fish pie I had the second night was out of this world. (Do yourself a favour and squeeze the lemon over the top) As a fussy Guinness drinker I don't often trust Guinness outside of a few select pubs. The Guinness in Monk's is absolutely fantastic. Cold and creamy. We were staying in a cottage beside it, but can only imagine staying here would be as top class as the staff, service and food. very child friendly too.

Mai Fitz

Lissarda
14/02/2026: Food really really lovely... but the some of the staff are horrifyingly arrogant especially the lady behind the bar, and the two men. However the waitress and other bar staff are lovely. I just feel like if customers are spending there money at your restaurant maybe you should have better people skills. Id recommend for them to go on work experience at the bayleaf because they actually have manners.
08/02/2026: What a great place to eat. Stopped on our wat back from cork city . We were lucky we got a table stright away as tables were filled once available. Its no wonder because the food was fabulous, all 3 courses. Food was served pipping hot & no delays. All was perfect. Staff were amazing, very efficient & friendly considering the volume of people getting served. A gem of a place on a busy road. Wheelchair friendly with easy access and parking. Will definitely dine here again .

Quay West

Donegal
03/02/2026: Ah lads… Hold up there. I know that we are blessed to live in a country where fresh produce is abundant, and good chefs are numerous… BUT… when you’re lucky enough to eat somewhere that has both of these things, the result is the culinary holy grail. Quay West in Donegal Town is most definitely one of these places… A beautifully diverse menu that showcases the best of Irish beef (Brazilian, Brashmillion…) delicate Italian pasta dishes, and even ventures into a wonderfully fragrant Indonesian curry. Being as close as they are to Killybegs, I couldn’t pass the freshness of the Kinnegar battered Haddock, with fresh tartar sauce and pea purée… Christ. That’s all. The fish must have hopped out of the water of his own accord, and got a taxi from the pier in Killybegs straight in to the Quay West kitchen, and begged to be battered… and being in Donegal, what better battering than a Kinnegar batter?!?! It was utter perfection, complimented by a perfectly tart tartar, and smooth pea which was definitely in several of the 40 shades of green. Also at our table were dishes of Chicken Parmigiana, curry, and the most incredible zesty crab and courgette linguine… I’m not sure what magic was worked to make this sooooo light, but Angels definitely wept. The delicate lightness of the lobster cream was unreal… if this was the base for a chowder or bisque, it would be unbeatable. If you happen to be lucky enough to be in Donegal at dinner time, do NOT pass this place by. The staff are friendly without being too overly attentive, and the view is nearly as perfect as the food. THIS Quay West, is much better than the other Key West, and doesn’t take as long to get to. 13/10 for fresh fishiness. Will dine again. Nomnomnom…
02/02/2026: Really great restaurant in Donegal Town. We were looked after from the moment we walked in the door and right throughout the evening. The menu was wide and varied with plenty of choice for everyone. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and despite being busy, everything was under control and there was no long wait for our food. Hadn't eaten there before but will definitely be back. Really nice atmosphere. Thanks to Jo and team for a lovely evening.

The Spitjack, menu

Cork
20/02/2026: Waited an hour for food to be served. The food then came out wrong for my meal which I sent back. Infairness they cooked a fresh one but by the time it was ready everyone I was with was ready to go. We payed but the waitress called us back and double charged us.
20/02/2026: Something for everyone. Great Irish fare, prompt, cheerful service; lively but not crazy. The place was cooking.

20/10/2025: What an incredible experience! The Irish Coffee was unreal good! The story of Tom Crean was the highlight of my day! Gary, another door will open. Never doubt the difference you made. Smile because it happened! 💚 Sending all the prayers, love, and good vibes.
05/10/2025: Great traditional pub in lovely surroundings. The history of Tom Crean was brilliant to see and so well laid out throughout the bar. I got lost just reading all about his exploits all over again. The drink was great too!
