04/10/2025: We received a friendly welcome, and even though we arrived early, we were still shown to our table and served! We were able to order our food later, and it was also excellent!

13/11/2025: Excellent hotel well situated excellent food great staff.

12/11/2025: Our stay here was very nice. Our room (the studio suite viewing Herbert Park) was very nice and clean with kitchenette and laundry. The restaurant there was delicious and the staff was very accommodating when we asked for help or things. Our luggage had been lost and when the airline finally got it to the hotel it was waiting for us in our room when we returned from our day long excursion. And it’s pretty at Christmas. There are a few places to eat nearby but it’s a bit removed from the “happening” part of Dublin so prepare to Uber to places like Temple Bar and such. Perhaps if it were warmer and we felt like walking more it would have been different.

10/09/2025: First Irish breakfast in Ireland! I got the godfather and it was perfectly portioned, comes with tea, and I just love how thick the hash browns are here. This restaurant is bustling with locals and very busy. There’s indoor and outdoor seating, but outdoor is much more limited.

10/11/2025: Sometimes this place is good, sometimes amazing, sometimes spectacular, like last Sunday when we attended my small birthday dinner. People working there are the nicest! What I say next might be controversial, but this place has probably the best pizza in the world. I mean it. And I am just back from a week in Italy :). The crust is unreal! I don't know why they don't get more recognition for an amazing pizza they do! We ate every small bit of it, including the rims :). Seriously, the wood-fired pizza makes a difference. Let me finish with a quick thank-you to Sebastian (I hope I got the name right)—the host. He is a highlight of the place. Such a great personality. But all the staff are great. They checked on us a couple of times to make sure all was good. They genuinely look happy to work here. That also tells you something about the company. I am sure they look after their people well. Thank you, Butler& Barry!

18/09/2025: Where do you start, we spent a lovely lunch hour in an atmospheric Irish establishment. Foods great.

20/11/2025: We had the pleasure of dining at Mai Fitz in Lissarda recently for a family dinner, and we cannot recommend it highly enough. As a family of four, we were looking for a welcoming atmosphere, and Mai Fitz delivered on all fronts, exceeding our expectations. From the moment we walked in, the service was truly exceptional. The staff were attentive, incredibly friendly, and brilliant with the children—making us feel genuinely valued and looked after throughout the meal. The food was the absolute star of the show. Everything was fresh, perfectly cooked, and clearly made with quality ingredients. The main courses were hearty and delicious, and the desserts were a fantastic finish. This is proper, comforting, and high-quality pub dining at its best. If you're looking for great food and even better service in a lovely setting, Mai Fitz is the place to go. We'll definitely be back soon!

03/11/2025: Stopped for lunch on our way back from Cork. Promptly sat down and brought water whilst we checked the menu and daily specials. The food was superb, a good hearty portion too. Excellent value to boot.

03/12/2025: Super experience in Solas over the weekend, having wanted to try for so long. Had a mix of small and medium plates with the standouts being the wagyu beef taco, crab tartlets and the oysters although all dishes were exceptional. Service was excellent and right on the mark in terms of pace, friendliness and helpfulness. A well oiled machine in the heart of Dingle.

30/10/2025: Wonderful dinner venue. Booked at the last minute and wasn’t disappointed. Fantastic food, very friendly service and an exceptionally interesting menu. Everything tasted fantastic, the food was very fresh and the atmosphere was welcoming and cosy. Initial disappointment at lack of beers was more than compensated for by quality of food.

30/10/2025: Always fresh red fish and a large selection of frozen food, I had chowder, I've had tastier ones, but this one was also good, it's a matter of taste, the place is good

30/10/2025: If I had only tried them earlier in my trip. So wonderful fish was tender inside light crispy coating, no oil laying on the outside. Perfect fries. Enjoyed openess of space, tables to sit at or wait for take away. Take away was quick and pleasant customer service. If in this area again will be visiting often.

27/10/2025: Amazing pub near the cliffs. We enjoyed some great pints of Guinness, and the beef chuck stew was the star of the meal!

27/10/2025: Great lunch spot in Lisdoonvarna! Stopped by this place on the way back from the cliffs and it was a solid place for lunch. We ordered the seafood chowder and fish and chips. Both dishes were solid and the chowder had a good amount of seafood in it. The service staff was very friendly and welcoming and the restaurant atmosphere is really cozy. Would recommend to anyone passing by Lisdoonvarna!

18/11/2025: Tucked away like a treasure and indeed it is one. The staff were lovely, welcoming and highly professional. We arrived a half hour before our reservation and were quickly accommodated. One of us is not a wine enthusiast but described their taste and loved the recommended glass. We started with a dozen oysters and agreed Kirwans’ could do well with a menu item ‘Cover the table with oysters’. We had the Seared Scallops with crispy pork belly and the 10 oz aged ribeye. The steak was so good, today I’m lighting a candle for the cow. Our gracious host said the cleaned plates were a compliment, to which we responded that we had to restrain ourselves to stop at the porcelain. It was truly lovely

05/11/2025: I still think about this meal. It was the first meal of our trip and we just happened to walk by and they had a table ready for us pretty quick! I still dream about these mussels. A fantastic seafood dinner to lead into a night heading to different pubs. A breath of fresh air and fine dining before a night of pints all over town. But for real, order the mussels. I'm going back to Galway JUST to eat here. Great wine list too and fantastic service staff.

30/10/2025: We stayed two nights at Seaview Tavern during our Malin Head trip, and it was just perfect! The room was clean, cozy, and had a lovely sea view. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious, and the bar downstairs had a great local vibe, we really enjoyed our pints there each evening. The staff were so friendly and attentive, and Mike, the owner, is simply amazing - always around for a chat and full of great local tips. A true Donegal gem with genuine Irish hospitality. Highly recommended whether you are visiting Malin Head or exploring the Wild Atlantic Way. We will definitely be back!

31/10/2025: We made a reservation as getting a dinner place in town can be difficult, and the fillet steak and lamb shank were both very good, as was the service we received from the time we walked into the restaurant. If you’re looking for quality meat dishes and a less busy atmosphere I can definitely recommend this restaurant.

21/10/2025: Went to Kerry for a few days called into Murphy Brownes and it was top class lovely food and staff

04/12/2025: Stepped in for a bite with a vegan pall and wasn’t disappointed. Patatas bravas and wings nice. Lots more choice so will defo be returning

09/09/2025: Authentic pub with fantastic food! Service was rather mediocre.

09/09/2025: The Skeff is part of the The Skeffington Arms Hotel. Food was very good. The Seafood Chowder and a couple of (non!) Stout beers from other parts of Ireland were a welcomed change of pace. IPA's, actually. One from Letterkenny, and the other from Kill, County Kildare. Other than the service being just a tad slow, it was (overall) very good. And the live music was magical this night. Okay...Not exactly magical, but covers from bands/artists that everyone knows, sung by a group of a youngish band of 3 called The Groev. They did a great job, actually.
