O'Connell's in Dublin

A very nice and comforting pub after a short hike on the Howth coastal path; the staff were very friendly and efficient.

We stoped in for a quick drink after walking down from the summit. Nice spot

Great place, Calamari first class, local beer

Simple, good and nourishing food, so you're ready to take on the cliff trails, or after them as a treat.

Was busy but luckily got a table, staff were friendly. Ordered fish and chips and fish chowder both were lovely, very tasty, good sized portions. Would recommend

Busy pub just down from the cliff walk. Hence the popularity. Large menu with too many options. A cup of soup to warm up and continue on with your day.

I've eaten at this restaurant several times when I've visited Howth, and it never disappoints. They have a wide menu, good quality ingredients, and friendly, attentive service. Plus, the price is excellent for the quality and quantity. The place is also spacious, with dining rooms and tables downstairs (as well as a bar area and terrace), and an upstairs area where you can also eat, even at high tables. I've had everything from fish and chips (crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside), to the fish of the day (they often have a special fish that isn't on the menu), the typical Irish mussels (delicious, with a white wine and cream sauce that's so good you'll want to keep dipping), and my favorite dish: a casserole with a base of crab and haddock (which is similar to cod) in a cream sauce, all baked au gratin and served with mashed potatoes. I think it's one of the best fish dishes I've ever had. If you're in Howth, this place is a must-visit for a good meal and a few pints.

We really enjoyed both the service and the food. Good value for money.
