03/04/2024: Tomás and his family are excellent hosts, and the service is second to none. Food was plentiful and very tasty. Next time we're in Benlevy Motorhome park, we'll definitely visit Burke's again.
31/03/2024: Really nice locally sourced food. I had the blue cheese with pear and nut salad starter and main lamb shanks with a red wine juis. Both delicious .Very welcoming staff.

01/04/2024: The price is a bit high for this small town, but it’s still worth it. The atmosphere and decoration of the entire restaurant are very good, and the waiters are also very friendly. The highlight is that the carrot cake here is super delicious! The cake itself is great, the Creamcheese on top is solid, and paired with the fresh cream on the side it makes it even more refreshing!
The price is a bit high for the little town, but it is still worth the money, the whole vibes is good and the easter deco definitely makes the place cuter!
Their carrot cake is a must have! It's really good, I would say it's the best ever! The base is really nice, along with the fresh cream actually make it better!
27/03/2024: Lunch recommended by the staff at Athenry Castle. Food in Ireland never disappoint. The cakes were good, not too sweet.
I see a lot of people ordering tea which they make out of loose tea.
It's quite a small place and the place was quite full for a weekday lunch. I feel a lot of locals come here.

22/03/2024: If you are in the area, eat here. You may need a reservation. Service was excellent. I had the captain's plate, which was excellent. My son was a bit less enthusiastic about the Irish Stew, which was good, but a bit thin. My wife loved the pasta that she had. We also enjoyed the live music, which wasn't deafening (Americans take note)! Parking is a little scarce.
21/03/2024: Excellent lunch. We had the prawn and salmon dish, the Caesar salad with chicken, and a portion of garlic butter fries. Service was prompt, friendly, and courteous, and it was very busy for a Tuesday lunchtime (a sign of its popularity)

21/01/2024: Went for food. Perfect service. Everyones starters and mains were delicious and enormous portions. The bread under the baked camembert wasnt to my taste but very little to fault. Desserts were more hit and miss (ice-cream delicious) but you'll be so full from starters and mains you can always skip this course. Highly recommended.

01/04/2024: Ended up eating here twice over the weekend including Easter Sunday. Food is absolutely excellent and the place has a great atmosphere. Spotless everywhere from kitchen to the restaurant. We had three Tomahawk steak on the Sunday which was excellent. Starters and mains both days were faultless. The waitresses were really friendly to our young daughters and the colouring pages and crayons were a nice touch. Definitely family friendly and we’ll be back during our next visit. We met Paul the chef by chance as we were leaving and he was friendly. There’s clearly a sense of pride in the great food being served here. Lovely Guinness too!

26/03/2024: Welcoming staff who upgraded us when we arrived which was very kind. Interesting local history talk at 6:30pm every evening by a warm fire with complimentary Prosecco.
Would recommend this hotel, right by the Sky Road perfect if you’re on the wild Atlantic way.

11/12/2023: I did enjoy the vege squash curry, and the Al fresco dining room is a bit different and still nice in winter if you wrap up warm! However, €17 for a vegetable curry for lunch in this setting is just too much for this day and age which is a shame as I had planned to go back. A can of soda is also double the price at €3 so unfortunately €20 for 1 person for a lunch just isn't doable for most people as a regular thing.

Had the roast chicken sambo on excellent bread. Bring a jacket.

30/03/2024: Last three times I had the seafood chowder the potatoes have been rock hard uncooked. Usually lovely chowder but recently you are not cooking the potatoes. Come on guys just par boil them first if you don't have time

Great menu and lovely food at very competitive prices. Spotless restaurant, perfectly cooked food and very attentive staff without being intrusive. Will definitely be back again. Happy to recommend. 😊

02/04/2024: Nice gastropub. Menu is not extravagant but has interesting and popular dishes. Staff were polite and friendly. There is parking, but it is somewhat hidden as it is on a side street opposite the pub.

04/04/2024: We were there in early January for lunch, and both fancied the seafood chowder. We have eaten here on several occasions, especially when our kids were younger, and found things fine.
I said I would allow enough time to settle myself before giving a review.
We are both now almost 60 years of age and have travelled widely, sampling food from all over. Sorry to say that this must be the most unappetising chowder I have ever been served up. A grey, gooey mess that had been reheated (the filmy layer on top is a giveaway). We will be slow to return.
Such a pity for a nice gastropub in such a lovely location.
04/04/2024: Wonderful! Very kind, perfect and welcoming room with breathtaking view. A la carte breakfast I would say was unexpected and very good. Highly recommended.
