31/07/2026: We have had food at The Orchard on a number of occasions. The staff are very friendly and efficient. Food has consistently been of a high standard. The premises are well presented. We will definitely visit again when in the area.

08/08/2026: So totally GF and vegetarian friendly. I had a GF scone. It.did.not.lose.crumb.at.all. It let me butter and jam and put whipped cream on it. Heaven.

07/08/2026: We spontaneously decided to have a light lunch here. Our table on the first floor was cozy. Overall, the Fig Tree is rather small and lively. It seems there are also many local regulars. Everyone knows each other by name. The "soup of the day" (pumpkin and sweet potato) with bread and butter was really delicious. So were the chicken nuggets with fries. The service was friendly and attentive throughout. The prices were also reasonable.

14/08/2026: Lovely restaurant. Has a very good local reputation for good food. Lovely ambience. However, consideration for a new customer arriving for the first time is really poor. There is no indication at the door whether one must wait to be seated or not, so the first option is just to stand in the doorway, in the way, and feeling foolish. As no staff member approaches, second option is to move to an empty table with menus on it. Catch the eye of a staff member who is not friendly, to be told snappily that the table is reserved. Nothing on the table to indicate that this is the case. Table with one chair in the middle of the floor and flow of traffic offered. No query as to whether this would suit. Sit for a moment, feel really uncomfortable so stand up and leave as requesting an alternative table does not seem like an option, due to the unfriedliness of the staff member. If one must wait to be seated, this needs to be indicated. If a table is reserved, this needs to be clearly indicated. Two easy fixes. As for the unfriendliness of staff... perhaps that person was just having a bad day. The next experience at The Lime Tree might be lovely.

28/07/2026: What a lovely little cafe. Decor really nice. I had a chicken Caesar wrap which was lovely. & a bowl of soup. My partner had a blt which he said was really nice & soup. When we arrived we were told the fryer was broken so no chips. Bit disappointed but the food was lovely so no big deal. I will be back to try the chips!! We also tried the rhubarb lemonade and omg it was gorgeous. So refreshing and had a very sweet taste!! We also had warm apple pie which was lovely. believe it had an outdoor area and is dog friendly. I would definitely recommend this place. Plenty on the menu for everyone. I thought the price was really good too for what we got.

20/07/2026: First time here, nice feel and vibe, seated almost instantly. Order taken 2 minutes later. 5 mins and food arrives. Lamb stew. It was delicious. Will definitely be back.

03/06/2026: Excellent venue for a night out. We perform music here every month and without fail it is an excellent venue for vibes, drinks and live music. Staff are always friendly and welcoming

02/06/2026: Unfortunately, this was a completely disastrous first encounter. We wanted to visit the venue this afternoon to check it out over a few drinks, as we had planned to reserve a table for four for the evening. Despite the place being barely occupied—at most 20% capacity—the welcome we received was extremely rude. When we asked if we could sit in the bright, front bar area, the response was extremely dismissive and surly. The tables in the front are only given to people, who wants to order food. As told before, the Bar was nearly empty, and it was 15:45 on a Tuesday. We were told, that we can have our drinks in the dark backroom. We left and wont come back again. We are spending our money somewhere else.

01/07/2026: What a wonderful establishment! We stayed in the village for 2 days and went to this pub both nights. Owner is a wonderful host and we even played an impromptu gig on the 2nd night. Thanks again Alan for a wonderful time! Can’t wait to come back!

09/06/2026: What does value for money mean? It means Lady Helen. We were there June 6th for a birthday. We will never forget it. Skip 3 or 4 meals out that will be soon forgotten in exchange for one night in this restaurant that will live long in the memory, linger sensually on the palate and will lift your spirits for days and weeks afterwards. Food at the highest level infused with care and expertise that will take your breath away. If you can get there then just go and experience it.

07/06/2026: The absolute highlight of our Ireland tour. A fantastic restaurant with exceptionally good service. You get the impression that the restaurant, or rather the building it's in, belongs to the waiters themselves, as they explain and show you everything with such enthusiasm. The food was of absolutely top quality; the main course is served and explained personally by the chef (at every table). You feel like you're among friends; we truly had an exceptionally wonderful evening! Thank you to the entire team at Lady Helen!

04/08/2026: We stayed here for 4 nights during our time in Ireland and it is a very special place. You can tell that it's family run - staff is warm and inviting, and the charm of the original building from the 1800s is still very much alive. Breakfast was included at the restaurant Lil's, and the quality and quantity of options that were made to order were exceptional (full Irish breakfast, pancakes, waffles, porridge, etc).

31/05/2026: My daughter and I recently stayed at Avalon House Hotel and from the moment we walked through the door we felt so welcomed by Miriana. The Hotel is such a lovely place to stay. The rooms are immaculate and very clean. The dinner in the bar was sooo good and all the staff are very friendly and helpful, especially John who made our day :) Breakfast was really good too. It's easy to park and it's such a short drive into Kilkenny. I only wish we had stayed longer. We will definitely stay here again.
