Matt The Millers Bar & Restaurant

Kilkenny
22/04/2026: Very well located, the staff were very attentive and efficient. The decor is unique, and they play pleasant background music without being intrusive. The food was decent, although the meat was a little overcooked for my taste. The seafood chowder was a great choice!
21/04/2026: Olivia was an outstanding waitress for our large group—always smiling and incredibly attentive. The fish and chips were amazing, and everyone at the table ordered something different that was just as delicious. The Irish dinner music playing throughout made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend!

Orchard House Bar

Kilkenny
19/04/2026: Traveling through Ireland, this was our best stay yet. Cozy, clean and comfortable rooms. Comfy bed with REAL pillows. Couldn’t hear the live music from the bar downstairs at all which was a plus.
21/03/2026: We had a great stay here for a week because of work and visiting family. Everything was perfect, from the very comfortable, quiet rooms to the great breakfast, lunch and dinner. It’s the perfect setting with a restaurant and bar as part of it, so it was a very enjoyable week and made even better with just a very friendly welcome every morning as if we were family. We’d definitely recommend and we’ll be back here to stay next time in Kilkenny.

Left Bank

Kilkenny
04/05/2026: Bouncer was incredibly rude and disrespectful to a group of us who spent a significant amount of money in the bar downstairs, they even went as far as calling our entire group losers. They didn’t have sufficient staff on the bar and blamed us for not having a stamp to authenticate that we had paid into the club despite the fact that there was no staff on duty when we entered. Would not recommend to anyone coming for a fun night out.
03/05/2026: I am writing to formally raise a concern regarding my recent experience at your premises during a visit to Kilkenny this past weekend. I travelled from County Down with two friends for what we had intended to be an enjoyable and relaxing break. As someone who has spent my entire career working within the hospitality industry, including managing bars and restaurants, I have a strong appreciation for the standards and values that underpin genuine Irish hospitality. Unfortunately, my experience at your venue fell significantly short of those expectations. Upon approaching your premises on Saturday night, we were unexpectedly asked by your door staff where we were from. After answering this question, we were then informed that we had “too much to drink” and were advised to leave, get food, and return later. This assertion was entirely unfounded. My two companions had consumed only a moderate amount of alcohol (approximately 4–5 pints each), and I do not drink alcohol at all. Despite this, I was also told that I appeared intoxicated. This interaction was both confusing and disappointing. At no point were we behaving inappropriately or exhibiting any signs of intoxication that would justify refusal of entry. From my professional experience, I am aware that such reasoning is sometimes used as a blanket justification to deny entry; however, it raises serious concerns about fairness, consistency, and professionalism. Additionally, the initial question regarding our place of origin felt unnecessary and irrelevant, and I would question its appropriateness in any customer-facing context. Following this incident, we attended another venue where we relayed what had occurred. We were informed by their door staff that your establishment has a reputation for such practices. While I cannot independently verify this claim, it is certainly concerning and worth addressing from a management perspective. I respectfully suggest that this matter be reviewed internally, particularly in relation to the conduct, training, and decision-making standards of your door staff. As representatives of your business, they play a critical role in shaping first impressions and setting the tone for customer experience. It is essential that this role is carried out with professionalism, fairness, and respect. At a broader level, as individuals working within the hospitality sector, we all share a responsibility to uphold the welcoming and inclusive reputation associated with Irish service. Turning away potential customers without clear and justifiable cause, particularly in a manner that appears arbitrary, does not reflect these values. I would appreciate it if you could look into this matter and provide clarification on your entry policies, as well as any steps you intend to take to ensure a more consistent and professional approach moving forward. I trust that you will treat this feedback constructively and view it as an opportunity to improve both customer experience and staff conduct. I look forward to your response.

The Duiske Inn

Graiguenamanagh-tinnahinch
24/03/2026: Food is shocking…… service depends on who’s working… a couple of staff are absolutely brilliant but there’s others there don’t even know they are born yet!!! And make sure to check your bill. You could be charged for stuff you don’t ask for. You be better off going hungry. The town needs a proper restaurant more than anything.
03/03/2026: Lovely restaurant in Graiguenmanagh, it has great staff and the menu has a good variety. Some seating outside and music most weekends. Definitely not one to miss when your out and about walking, or staying in the near campervan hub, Its your perfect place for breakfast lunch or dinner

Lady Helen

15/01/2026: The food was good and well presented. While none of the dishes particularly impressed me, everything tasted good overall.
22/11/2025: Well what can we say? Each and every dish was so good! Especially the fish course. Not much of a fish person but Lady Helen converted me! We were full by the veal course but it was so good that we finished it. We did not go for wine pairing but ordered a bottle between the two of us. I meam the wine was lovely. Every time we come to Kilkenny, we come to the Lady Helen. Thank you again and can't wait to be back!
