Next to the castle, in a beautiful and solid building, we found a fantastic brewery. Great atmosphere and spacious. The burgers are delicious. Highly recommended.

Three of us went for lunch and a few beers. The place is very nice and pretty, the burgers were substantial, and so was the sandwich!

We found this gem as we were walking around. So happens to have a World Cup qualifying game on. Great start to our holiday. Good, staff, beer and atmosphere were all Five Stars.

I had Louisiana chicken wings to start and baby back ribs for the main meal and a couple of lovely pints of the local ale Smithwicks to wash them down. The wings were delicious and the ribs were very tasty. The service is impeccable and the decor and atmosphere are second to none.

Great atmosphere, very good food. The service was attentive and friendly. The ambiance was truly impressive. I'd gladly come back. It could become my regular spot if I lived there.

19/04/2026: Great place to see. The food was fantastic and they have live music. Authentic irish music and an Irish dancer.
18/04/2026: Went here for food on a Friday night, was really disappointed with the food, the chips were undercooked and the fish lacked flavour. Service was good and servers were very nice, drinks were good

Orchard House Bar

21/03/2026: We had a great stay here for a week because of work and visiting family. Everything was perfect, from the very comfortable, quiet rooms to the great breakfast, lunch and dinner. It’s the perfect setting with a restaurant and bar as part of it, so it was a very enjoyable week and made even better with just a very friendly welcome every morning as if we were family. We’d definitely recommend and we’ll be back here to stay next time in Kilkenny.
23/01/2026: Room is nice, very Comfortable bed. Food was extremely good plus staff servicing the food were excellent and so friendly. Recommend the Orchard House.
