Excellent atmosphere in an historic pub. I loved the fish & chips - fresh and crispy. Terrific service too.

I'm probably biased about this establishment partly due to its history, but I like the place, the staff are friendly and competent, the food is delicious and I'm a picky vegetarian, prices are reasonable and entertainment is provided from traditional music to sports. Child friendly too, can get very busy but the wait is never too long Great spot .

If you're looking for an exceptional setting for a meal (and that's important), this is the place. For the dishes, it is very average, the speed of the service explains this and hence the value for money. The staff are lovely.

03/04/2024: I'm turn....on one hand, the girls were doing a great job on the other hand, the kitchen kept screwing up our orders and allergy requests! Had to get a salad redone twice and a burger 3 times! By time burger was done correctly the fries were cold and our other dish we ordered as well as I waited for my wife to get her correct food as well... you'd think the management would offer to comp the dish? Maybe a desert? How about a pint to make things right? But unfortunately nothing was said or done.... sad... not rocket science guys....the food , once served CORRECTLY was good
