The best restaurants in Kilkenny

07/06/2026: Fresh tasty beer brewed onsite. Drink local. I had the pleasant opportunity to talk with Brandon who is one of the brewers. We discussed the new monitoring equipment that was recently introduced to ensure consistent quality. I highly recommend a visit when you are in Kilkenny.

06/06/2026: Sulvians beer was amazing and I like it more than Guinness. But Musik was too loud. We had to shout towards each other talking. The burger was good and the fries were cold. But the beer was great

07/06/2026: Excellent service and got a table without booking, but the customer alone usually can squeeze one in. Ate fried salmon on a bed of banana nouch with asparagus both white and green, cauliflower and potatoes. Missed salt but it was on the table - super tasty even though I was thinking about the babaganouch to accompany the dish.

05/05/2026: Stopped for a light lunch, and settled in for two hours of enjoyment. Recommend for anything from a meal to just enjoy a cup of coffee or tea.

29/05/2026: Very good food (scones were tasty). Makes good use of small space. Being used to service in the states, the culture shock is weird. Staff were friendly but not especially attentive.

20/05/2026: This was hands down my favorite pub in Ireland. It is exactly as it sounds, a hole in the wall that barely fits 10 people. Michael is an extraordinary human who has done impressive things and is wonderful to speak with. His patrons break out in song with instruments he keeps on the walls for all to play. Don’t come here expecting fast service, come here expecting an experience that is unique and memorable.

19/05/2026: Right in the middle of the tourist area. Great atmosphere and lots of beers on tap. The food arrived quickly, which is understandable given the crowds. The staff were highly motivated and really ran around. We made it inside! 👍

19/04/2026: Traveling through Ireland, this was our best stay yet. Cozy, clean and comfortable rooms. Comfy bed with REAL pillows. Couldn’t hear the live music from the bar downstairs at all which was a plus.

21/03/2026: We had a great stay here for a week because of work and visiting family. Everything was perfect, from the very comfortable, quiet rooms to the great breakfast, lunch and dinner. It’s the perfect setting with a restaurant and bar as part of it, so it was a very enjoyable week and made even better with just a very friendly welcome every morning as if we were family. We’d definitely recommend and we’ll be back here to stay next time in Kilkenny.

12/06/2026: When we first entered the room, we were welcomed by a fish smell because the window was broken and the fumes from the kitchen were directly entering. We tried watching tv and couldn't because nearly all the channels were locked with a pin code that not even the manager knew. The water in the sink wouldn't drain. We tried to shower before bed but the hot water was shut off without prior notice. During the night, we were unable to sleep because all you could hear were the sounds of the pipes in the building that sounded exactly like a ship's horn going off every 10 minutes. We were left there wide awake to stare at the huge water damage stains in the ceiling. My partner suffers from epilepsy and sleep is more important for him than for the average person. At the price of 207€ for a night we at the very least expected to get a decent night's rest and that was not the case. We spoke to the manager and he told us he couldn't issue us a full refund. Only 20€. He said it wasn't within his power and that we'd have to go through Booking.com for a refund. Surprise surprise, it turns out he simply does not want to refund more than half. Very deceitful. This is place is more of a hostel.

10/06/2026: Recently had a two night stay here celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary, top marks all round, lovely hotel, exceptional staff from Louise on reception to Olya in the restaurant and Paul the owner, all so friendly and helpful, great location, will definitely return and would highly recommend. 15/04/2026: Avoid they allow men to use the ladies toilets my 9 year old daughter went to the bathroom only to be confronted by a man in the toilets with his door open..approached staff about this and they laughed it of..this individual constantly does this as if it was acceptable. A fully grown man in a toilet with the door open is acceptable to these guys..Avoid

03/05/2026: I stopped at this restaurant while passing through. The atmosphere was great, and the service was very friendly and quick. The food was excellent and served very fast. They have a large menu. I would definitely recommend it.

03/05/2026: You may think it's crazy that we were eating Asian food in Ireland. This was a great find and I will recommend it. I had a local lamb shank prepared in a sauce that takes over 4 hours to cook. This was a wonderful experience everybody enjoyed their seafoods there your beef and all the different things that we ate.
