Petronella in Kilkenny

The only restaurant we've been to where they didn't charge us 6 euros for tap water. They offered it to the other tables. Being tourists, we didn't like it at all.

Such a gem! Perfect romantic setting in an amazingly restored historic location.

Chanced a walk in here with a baby and they were very accommodating. Delicious food, wonderful staff and a lovely setting. Will be back next time we’re in town.

Best beef short rib dinner I can remember! Perfectly prepared. Good service. Desserts looked interesting but no room after such a wonderful main course.

We visited Petronella on Sunday afternoon for the Early Bird supper. The whole experience including the meals, service and ambience was great, with food options for everyone's palate. Our granddaughter enjoyed her baby bowl of delicious mash and carrots covered in rich slow cooked beef juices from the ribs. Our waiter Mattheo was charming, friendly and attentive. Our family thoroughly enjoyed the evening and would recommend Petronella restaurant.

The best restaurant I've been to so far in Ireland (and I'm a tourist 😉). A superb experience from start to finish thanks to the warm welcome and the quality of the dishes, which are expertly prepared, like the pan-fried seabass. I tried pairing it with a local beer, Smithwick's Red Ale, and the combination was delicious. Kudos to the chef and the team!

Wow, this restaurant deserves all its high praise. Our dinner was the best we had in all for Ireland. Fabulous meal (highly suggest the short ribs) in a wonderful setting. Worth every penny!

If you are visiting kilkenny you will be really missing out if you don't eat here. Have eaten here a couple of times but today we had a family getogether of 25 which included 5 children. I had expected due to size of our party that the quality might not be to the same high levels as previously experience. If possible today's quality was even higher. The staff here are absolutely fantastic and catered to our every need. After we settled the bill everyone was in agreement that it was fantastic value for money. The highlights on the menu are as follows: everything!
