Petronella in Kilkenny

Absolutely wonderful restaurant. The food, ambience and lovely staff made it such a special evening. Could not recommend highly enough ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wow, this restaurant deserves all its high praise. Our dinner was the best we had in all for Ireland. Fabulous meal (highly suggest the short ribs) in a wonderful setting. Worth every penny!

If you are visiting kilkenny you will be really missing out if you don't eat here. Have eaten here a couple of times but today we had a family getogether of 25 which included 5 children. I had expected due to size of our party that the quality might not be to the same high levels as previously experience. If possible today's quality was even higher. The staff here are absolutely fantastic and catered to our every need. After we settled the bill everyone was in agreement that it was fantastic value for money. The highlights on the menu are as follows: everything!

We were treated like royalty on a hot night, in the cool oasis of the butterslip. The food the service, but especially the welcome and the extra bit of craic and shared stories. Lucy greeted us like long lost cousins and Bensi - well, more Irish than the Irish themselves.

I visited Petronella in Kilkenny and the atmosphere was romantic with dim lighting, which made for a very nice setting. The staff were okay and overall service was decent. I ordered the sea bass, which was excellent—solid 9/10. I also had a glass of white wine (Cabernet Sauvignon), which paired perfectly with the dish. I did find a small bone in the fish, but it wasn’t an issue as I understand that can sometimes happen. I also noticed my glass wasn’t completely clean, so I wiped it with a napkin. For dessert, I had the espresso crème brûlée. It was fine for coffee lovers, but not something I would order again. The presentation also felt a bit lacking, and the flowers on the plate looked wilted. Overall, it was still a nice experience and I enjoyed my meal.

We had a delicious meal here. Everything was superb.
